Teaser: My new lightsaber "working" blade

ok, we finally got around to doing a better movie with some unscripted "saber play" to show off the newest blade features: Sound with synchronized blade clash effects. :D

With this feature the blade will automatically shimmer every time a clash event is detected. This works for the speaker-in-the-hilt sound modules or the wireless in-hilt sound module. The speaker-in-the-hilt sound module also has a variable speed force feedback motor that vibrates incessently when you clash. It also vibs at a slower rate when you swing or the blade is simply just humming. The wireless version can also use a vib motor. Plus the wireless version can also do blade lockup sounds that are triggered by the hilt or the computer user.

At any rate, here is a movie demonstrating our patented wireless bluetooth sound module with the new automated clash effects working in both hilts.

(There are 2 versions, a high and low res movie):
High-res saber movie (clash+sound) - 40Mb

Low-res saber movie (clash+sound) - 18Mb

It was very cool playing with these out in the garage, heck I wish I had these when I was a kid.. :)

We have some other surprises in store coming soon. Enjoy...

:eek

Holy crap. Those are the coolest sabers I've seen to date. This just keeps getting more and more amazing.

Or, to quote DV himself.. "Impressive. Most impressive."

I *need* one of these. (or two.. or three...)

Wow....although it seemed that some of the blade clashes didn't sound off when the blades hit....or maybe I just couldn't hear them Either way, the blade lock up sounds were fantastic.....and of course the brightness/colour is unbelievable...

Gimme, gimme, gimme.

The clashes dont go off all the time the way it was set up. You have to hit the blades together pretty hard.

Of course this is all tunable with the wireless version, and I had the clash threshold up pretty high. I wanted them to play out after hard strikes (ala ESB) so they didnt get too redundant. Later in the video you can see some nice clash strikes and lockup sounds during parrys.

Wow. :eek The amount of progress you've made in the last few weeks is nothing short of amazing.

Now I've got a hankering for...not a spankering...

...but to see the purple blade. :lol

Man, this is "out of this world"... I was going to buy an MR FX, and a TOMY super replica.. I cancelled BOTH.. no matter how long.. i will wait until you decide to go into production.. you are simply the BEST....

Thanks guys. We are keeping our proverbial noses to the grindstone. :)

Hopefully we will have yet another new and cool feature to share very soon..

That wouldn't happen to be Price or Shipping Date would it? I know those are the two "features" I want you to share next. :lol

Hyperdyne, those sabers are friggin amazing. THey put the MR FX's to shame.. Master Replicas should have come to you to make their sabers.

Can't wait to see the cost and whatnot...just hope they won't break the bank. Becuase if they do, then I will be :cry

Now this is something bugging my mind: I have a plenty of saber hilts made from genuine flash handles and a few old EL sabers but no MR sabers. If I plan to equipe them with your blades and electronic modules is there any advantage I would have from owning a MR FX saber in terms of ease of conversion and such? With other words, would an FX saber be easier to equipe with your blades and electronic kits than empty hilts? Or would any of the FX saber electronics be reusables on your kits in order to cut down costs and efforts? I am asking because I am tempted at buying an FX saber or two, but on the other hand if they don't do anything better than what my existing sabers will do after getting your kits than maybe I can safe some money upfront.

Curious...

Thanks. Yeah I busted all my MR sabers during testing, they didnt last too long. LOL

I am trying to get things done so I can move forward, also trying to make them reasonably priced too. Sometimes that can be difficult with bleeding edge technology. :eek

There isnt anything in the MR FX saber that you would use electronically. I gut them completely and toss the junk inside.

The only advantage is the sleeve that holds the blade is the right size for the blade stock I am currently using. And the hilt is large enough to easily hold the rechargeable battery pack, boards, motor, etc I am currently using. Thus the install is not difficult since you have tons of room inside to work with.

If you use other blade sizes and have a coupler sleeve for your hilt then there is no big advantage really. You might have to get a different sized batt pack to fit your hilt if its too small in diameter (under 1.25") to fit the one I offer. That will be the only thing that doesnt fit in a 1" ID hilt right now. If you modified the batt pack and lined up the battery cells one after another it would fit fine though...

Uhm, I thought the latest FX sabers are in the screen correct size, meaning there should be no difference in diameter between them and a genuine MPP or Graflex. Is that not so?

I dont know for sure. If they are then there shouldnt be a problem. But if you are looking to install stuff in a 1" ID hilt like a Parks or otherwise I was letting you know of the mods you will have to do.

Wow, another fantastic video. These are simply going to be TOO much fun. And you have more features on the way.?.? Can we take it? I love the smoothness of the powerup and down sequence. Much better than the MRs. I'm reminded of plasma.

Your skills are complete.

Hehehehe, yes more features are already implemented, just not released yet. B)

Thanks, glad you liked the video. I actually did some research on the powerup sequence and how to make it look smoother to the eye. Hopefully it works out.

These things are way too much fun to play with. It's hard to put down the saber once you start waving it around. Makes you feel like a kid again..... :)

BTW, here is the newest sound feature in my hilt. It's been on the drawing board for years now, but technology has finally caught up to the point where we could do it.

What is it? Interactive pitch control of the saber sounds. Basically when the saber is pointed down towards the ground, the saber hum gets deeper and more menacing. When you point the saber up, the hum gets higher - as if the saber is ready to fight. The pitch automatically changes while you fight too. :)

Here is a video showing this effect:

Enjoy.
