Teaser: My new lightsaber "working" blade

It's a secret right now. :)

This is another feature not seen anywhere else. And it's my favorite FWIW.....

If you havent read the entire thread, we already have a multi-speed vibrating hilt (vib speed is a function of swing/clash/hum) and the blade already flickers when you hit another blade. :D

jamie, the blades are not available yet. I am busy lining up manufacturing and all for these. The kits would only require you installing it in your hilt. The electronics portion is already assembled.

Megatron, the LOTR sword that MR did is probably the best way to go. Hard to compete with a $15 EL lit sword.

what will be that feature, like vibrating the hilt? having that light flicker when it hits another blade. what would be sweet if you hit another blade and u held ur blade on his, then both of the blades got really birght white where the blades touch.

New feature not seen any where else? Well since I think Hyperdyne has just about every possible thing you could do with a saber done already, my guess is he is looking for a blast door the cut through to show us the true power of his ultimate saber.

I've been watching this thread since December, and am wondering if you could give us pictures of the blue Hyperdyne next to the MR Anakin, and the other blue sabers you put in before. Thanks if you can, this stuff is really awesome. :)

Oh, didn't see that there. Thanks. :D

Thanks guys. Yeah, the pic thedisturbance put up is all the blue sabers I have access to. It should give you a good idea on relative brightness compared to other technologies.

At any rate, pricing will be released soon once the new website is ready. As a ballpark figure, a complete blade kit will cost a couple hundred clams.

BTW, manufacturing progress moves forward. I just received 15 sets of assembled blade kits today.. Next up are the driver boards, they still need to arrive and then sent off to assembly. I hope those to take a week or so to complete.

Once they are done I will have a complete blade upgrade kit available. Hopefully the website will be done by that time also... :)

I am hoping within a week or two. Whenever I get the driver units back from the assemblers then I should be ready to rock and roll.

:confused

frukin sweet...

when you say the blade kit, is that just the EL strand and the shell of the blade?

is it a finished ready to install and hook batteries up?

and is this with NO sound?

how much do you think the whole shebang will run ready to go in a graflex etc. ?

either way... AWESOME that they are almost here.

truly a day long remembered. :thumbsup

This is really good news HD.... I've got my finger on the trigger, and have it there for months. Give me a figure and an email address....

WOO HOO....

The blade kit should include the blade boards, the driver unit, and blade tubing. You will also be able to order other color blade boards and accessories ala carte. The kit will be ready to hook up to batteries. I plan on also selling a battery pack with recharge jack already installed. It makes it easy to install in a hilt.

The sound boards are optional and you can add them on at any time. They are "plug and play" where you simply plug the board into the driver unit and it is ready to go.

Pricing will be shown soon when the new website is up and running. As I said, the blade upgrade kit will run several hundred clams.

AndyS, thanks man. I will certainly let everyone know when these are ready. I'm getting pumped up, as I am dropping off the driver units to the assemblers today...

Here is one more released video.. This was our final "durability" test we did some time back. It was a MR EL Anakin blade against a Hyperdyne red blade. This was a "full out" duel to test very heavy impact shocks without any choreography in play. Needless to say it didnt last long. :lol

Blade durability test #3 movie

I dont care what the naysayers believe, we hit these things together so hard the hilts were shaking. You can see the EL split right in two inside the blade. :) Enjoy...

..Wow...it didn't take that long for the MR to grenade, did it?

OK Jim....I've already gutted one of my MR Vaders in anticipation of this kit.

The countdown begins.....

How about a wall/static display version with a wall plug instead of batteries? Would love to be able to plug it in at home and flick a wall switch to turn it on.

That is certainly doable. We could provide an AC wall wart to do this. Although you would still need some way to remotely press the ignition button on and off. So to have it work off a light switch exclusively is a tad more work, but not impossible...
