Syd Mead's concept Blade Runner blaster

Posted the project over at Prop Summit and Skin-Job said he's interested in making matching holsters for it :D

Looking at his previous holsters, they'll be lovely

I'm thinking I might get mine vacuum metalized. I imagine it's a bit pricey, but it'll be nice to make my first ever prop look fancy.

Would look sweet. I think i will go with alclad. cheap and mine will be just a show piece..

Got more than enough interest now to do a run, so will be ordering an Ultimaker 2 so I can print off the best possible master for casting. Will be buying it in a few weeks time as I've got my masters degree dissertation due in 2 weeks and don't want to be distracted by the printer.

Real world stuff before prop's. no problem. works for me as I need to clear a few things myself. good luck with the dissertation Nixon.

Had another fiddle with the model and a microswitch should fit. Means I can get a trigger to work! Should be able to test it soon as I cracked and bought an Ultimaker 2 this morning.

Managed to get a new one on Amazon for £1400 or about $2300. About £500 cheaper than list so I was rather chuffed. Still expensive, but I should make the money back soon. Got another kit in the works and some possible commissions from my cosplaying friends.

May I ask If you have the casting equipment? would like to know more on those plans.

Printer arrived on Thursday and I've spent the last few evenings tuning it to get the best print quality. The knurled dial on the bottom of the grip just needs a light sand and it'll be perfect.

Looks like a great print for a machine you just got. figured It would take awhile to dial It In. looks good. but not exactly sure were It goes. that's on the very bottom of the grip?

Oh! I totally missed that part. cool. what part are you going to make next if I may ask?
