Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Final Steel Concept Page 7*

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

Wow thanks guys. Maybe I'll get the Superman suit after all. Now if I'll stick with the original suit or go with a slightly maniped suit. Hmmm. What to do, what to do

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

My only worry was just that I would end up looking like these two guys lol

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

We are in very serious talks inside our group about doing this suit. If you had a chance to look at the work we did on the AA suit we will be shooting for similar quality. We have recently found a fabric maker who can print inks using silicone, HD (high density), GEL, etc...These are the inks used on the new suits. If anyone is interested in also being involved please chime in.

At this point we have used the colors from the current pics and dialed in some samples of the base suit. Like everyone else now we are just waiting on a higher res shot of the repetitive pattern on the suit. We're also kicking around the idea of doing alternate colors, trunks, but will start with the original colors and include the add on body parts, wrist pieces, cape,etc... possibly the boots.

When looking at the first promo shot and the shot of him walking from a distance the suit looks very rubberized and the main space of the costume pattern looks raised. But in the newer pics the costume looks flat and the thin line work looks gloss. Any thoughts on this?

Let me know if you guys have any thoughts would like to get this as close as possible.

I like this new costume. It is like the new Spider-man one. Something a little off from the original design.

Same here, I was going to make this costume out of some neoprene 2.0mm and imprint the small design onto the fabric. Please shoot me a pm and we can talk about making this costume. I can provide funds =)

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

The excitement for us is the challenge of the fabric. The full classic suits are great but we want to get even more mobility out of the piece. So we are heading toward a lycra suit using the cutting edge specialty inks available. The lycra/spandex will show the detail best as the movie suit does whether its natural or an undersuit. This way you can have the option if you are a big guy to just wear the suit or if you are a smaller guy using a muscle suit underneath. And we have a company that finally is excited by the artistic side of the work so they will go the extra RD mile on the fabric work.

Right now we are just reaching out to some contacts to see if we can get some early info on the suit. Otherwise without help its a waiting game. Pieces like the symbol which can be scene flexing like fabric, the clear belt pieces like the TDK suit carbon pieces, the side details, cape, we are starting to develop.

We are looking to get this as exact as possible and also have the flexibility of different colors, trunks, etc...Should have some news this next week but please shoot any info especially any production knowledge.

I’ve been pondering this for several weeks myself and I’m seeing a little “S” pattern. I put together a crude example of what I’m seeing, the “S” in mine is not quite the right shape but you get the idea. Anyone else see it?

Hmmm, you think they would go back to an "S" textured suit?

Isn't his work amazing. See that kinda detail into the MOS suit would look outstanding!

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

Yeah, it would look great. I'm anxious to see your project get started, hopefully they'll release some detailed shots soon, though I think we'll be waiting a while.

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

ok how can you say that superman costume should look more alien.i can understand but lets me make a point. If the clothing was made from what he was sent in there would not be enoth of it for a costume for a 6'2 to 6'4 man of steel.not even talking about the cap.lol.he was sent to earth to survie. He look like an earth man/ so he fits in but he could not be hurt .i think old joe was more worried about his son surviveing more then making him stick out.i think this costume is good for like a what if movie.stop the reboot.we have many comic why not movie. I dont think the story line will be that good i think it will **** alot of fan off but we will be happy with the action.im so sick of movie coming up short.stop paying $100,000,00 a costume that i can make for $300.i mad a superman return belt out of leather and yellow plastick dip cost $30

Re: Superman: Man of Steel Costume *Updated Steel Concept Page 5*

I see the briefs being a very simple addition and like it better with them. The hate on the classic look just kills me.

Guys this is 100% in the works. I will be meeting for a fabric test to see exactly what is possible and if all goes well it will lead to projects past the MOS suit. We are a good meeting and 1 high res spy pic away from getting this going. Get all the Chicago members out to the MOS shoot and tell them to bring their good camera gear! I'd be out there with a telephoto if I could.
