Sucker Punch costume thread

Paul, I tend to go more historically-correct if the screen version is wrong. The Wise Man, as a British officer, carried an American rifle, the 1903 Springfield. I found a Denix non-firing replica of the Lee-Enfield SMLE Rifle, which would be more correct for a British soldier (officers didn't normally use rifles, but I'll overlook that). If I do the Wise Man, I would probably go with the Enfield.

According to the Suckerpunch wikia it is a scoped lee enfield :)

wow guys, glad your sorted the gun out :) paul you're gonna look ace.

ach that babydoll katana is b e a u t i f u l ! i'm so jealous haha! i'm sort of stressing about the hair. i don't want to wear/can't afford a wig but my hair isnt long enough. i'ts the length of brothel babydoll but not fight scene babydoll. i don't know what i should do..

Maybe you could put some clip in blonde hair extensions in? you wouldnt see the clips if you kept them near the front because the hairband would cover them. or you could glue them in?
I havent cut my hair properly in ages so that it will be fight scene length by October for halloween haha :p xx

Awh great! love the Wiseman costumes :) I've been so pre-occupied with getting this Babydoll costume sorted for Halloween that i had no clue there was a Expo on in October! Is it the London one?

Really want that sword off that site but i just added the delivery on and its coming to £188 to get it here! :(

I had loads of fun making my gun! i absolutely love it! ive displayed it in my front room haha! :)

Glad to hear. Are you going to Expo this October? I'm going to hopefully be the only Wiseman there. Also my Alien will be attending :lol

I just ordered my 1911 so I am going down the gun route rather than the sword. It's a nice piece and a pivotal part of the film but I will enjoy creating my gun and charms more.

well the thing with extensions is, because i have really thick hair and i'd need them quite long. for double weft clip in extensions, 18 inches, the cheapest is £50 ! i'm unemployed and i really dont have the money haha. well i have some time, maybe i'll get a job by then..

ahh i see £50 is alot of money for hair extensions like. umn pony tail ones and attach them to your bunches? good luck in finding a job hunny :) xx

Unemployment seems to be the thing in the U.K I am too, only surviving on JSA at the moment :unsure

Where did you get your Colt 1911 from Seeralou?

Found this it's kind of awesome Sucker Punch Behind The Scenes

haha i'll just have to really look after my hair and make it grow quicker :')

Paul,

Thanks for the enhanced images off the blu-ray. From them, I can identify the rifle as a Springfield (it's definitely not an Enfield), but it's not the standard 1903 model. It is, instead, a M1903A4 Springfield sniper variant.

M1903a4

I'm afraid that the Suckerpunch wikia is wrong on this point. The Enfield SMLE would have made for a poor sniper rifle, anyway.

That's why I posted it. I agree with you it wasn't, remember Wikia is written by the public not the researchers. I found a great article here about the story and the significance of the labotomy scene :)

Your hair looks fine hun, with the detail on your costume people won't notice. At least yours naturally grows I wish my costume would just magically appear, everytime I get close to getting something it's the wrong thing :wacko

Not yet. The gun was easy, the coat is hard. I had a trench coat (made by London Fog) similar to it many years ago, but can't find one like it now. I've still got my eye out looking, though.

The height of the collar is very similar to a Burberry one I found online it had buckles on the cuffs and was the same length. I'll find the link later. It's 4am in the U.K so I'm going to get some shut eye. :sleep

Paul

I'm also in touch with Michael Wilkinson the costume designer of the film so I'll try and get as much info as I can without being all fanboy about it. :lol

Seeing some awesome costumes coming up in this thread keep 'em coming :cool

Paul

Can I just fangirl that you're in touch with Michael Wilkinson? I am such a huge fan of his costume designs. <3<3<3

Feast your eyes upon the first white Babydoll
