Sucker Punch costume thread

Great costumes ladies!! I saw a few at Megacon, definately the hit of the show!
As a side note I didn't see in this thread: Rocket's knife is a K98 German Mauser bayonet, and that pretty axe is a tomahawk, French & Indian wars style with the heart cutout.
I throw a hawk made by the H&B Forge Company, and they do make one very similar to Rockets.
 
Should have some progress pics of my first batch of Babydoll pistols up in a few days. Got eight airsofts and sets of rosewood grips sitting on the workbench, the artbook on the way, a master set of charms being sculpted and cast in resin and some freshly-practiced engraving skills! :-D
 
Would anyone have a blueprint of Babydoll's katana engraving or a complete picture of it like we can see in the artbook?

Only problem there is the fold of the book which cuts what would make a perfect high-res blueprint, in 2 pieces & a part of the design is hidden in the fold. :(

I'm gonna get it laser-engraved on a blade & for that I need the whole design in 1 page.
 
Second what Interceptor is asking, I would love a clear copy of the sword designs! I'm doing a con-friendly wooden version of her sword, I'd love to have a clear copy of the designs so I can either burn it into the wood or carbon it on the paint job.

Well, in an effort to get more people to share in progress; here's my skirt so far:
SKIRT!

The stripe looks..really blue here, it's actually a pale gray in person...turned out a bit wider then I wanted but hand folding bia's tape as small as I really needed was just not working well with the fabric (it's the same as my collar fabric). Hand stitched on, now to do the second row...I hate hand sewing.

My leather working friend said my holster is done, sadly I don't have time to pick it up till next week :(

I start boot camp in a few days too, so I hope to loose a bit of weight and tone up before the con I'm first wearing this too as well ^__^

Blondie research is slowly ending.. unfortunately.. Most likely because I've gotten fed up with it. Anyone figured out some nice Blondie shoes, gauntlets or main leotard? I'm really just worried about the main leotard that I have to figure out. So, anyone got any ideas or good replicas?

Also, anyone have a good Babydoll wig? I need it platinum blond, extended side part bangs, and would prefer it to be pre-curled. It doesn't have to come with the headband.

Hey n_n Um, lets see... for shoes, I bought a pair of knee-high dark brown boots, and i'm gonna add the black thigh parts later, and for the elbow guards, I had ordered a pair of Rocker elbow guards but unfortunately the site told me they were out of stock, and a month later I was told that O'neal stopped making them, so I'm going to buy a cheaper pair of elbow guards here in Argentina that resembles them (trust me, this had me sooo depressed u_u).
I glued on the zippers on the boots but with the ankle movement they became unglued so I'd recommend sewing if you have the chance.

The gauntlets I made of a light brown following the color scheme of a picture that had ALL the colors lighter, so it was a wrong color, and so I'm remaking them. I'll be using the same dark brown pleather I used for all the belts and harnesses for the gauntlets, and I'm still on the lookout for the double-thingy belt buckles :p

As for the leotard, well... it's a pain, simple as that. I'm currently working on it, having to fit it more and more to my body and it gets friggin complicated with everything sown on u_u' I bought a grey rubbery looking fabric for the grey panels and top, a brown kind of stretchy fabric for the brown panels (i was lucky to find a very similar color, but it's not lycra or nylon, more like a stretch gabardine...) and black nylon for the black panels, and i'll try to make it kinda like a corset using the plastic thingies i can't remember their names (the ones that make corsets rigid LOL)

So, if you need some more help or want pics, just ask n_n I think I'll post them anyway tho :p

Yay! Thanks for your help, this really really helped me. I'll try my best with the leotard, I'm hoping it'll come out looking most like it. I have the knee pads and everything figured out, I really just needed help on the leotard and shoes. But now I got the gauntlets figured out as well! Pictures would really help if you don't mind posting them.

And for the knee guards, I know a website you can get them from if you still want them.

For the leotard I used a tshirt pattern and then measured the rest of the needed length ad made the curve, and divided the panels more or less as they look in the original, you should put it all together and then fit it to yourr body, all of this before sowing the black stripes (otherwise you're gonna have to unsow them like i did :p) i'll take pics of it later for you, maybe it'll help :)
The same for the gauntlets, i had already done a pair for my arkham city harley quinn cosplay, so i just added the rest of the details n_n, to make the patterns, i measured the desired length (with your arm folded) and measure the thickess of your arm where the gautlet ends and your fist to ensure the gautlet can fit you, and that's it

As for the guards, i'm not sure if I'll buy them now, besides that website has them in white and the shipping is killer x_x so maybe not just at the moment..
 
Well, Rebel Chef and I worked on our first batch of Babydoll pistols today and they are looking AWESOME. We have four fully painted with the grips attached and three more ready to paint. I'm working on the custom medallions now and will be sculpting my own set of charms that will be used as a mold to make resin casts. We're also waiting on the decal sets from epilepticsquirrel. Once we have the first gun completely finished, I'll post pics. :-D Stay tuned!
 
sooo... back home, took some pics of what I guess would be needed n_n I have my boots at my house (I'm at my bf's right now :p) and I can't find the rest of the gauntlets so... here it is :p

i took a pic of my mp5 mag clip holster (without the clips :p) I'm waiting for a guy to cast them in plastic so I haven't sown the spaces yet. And a detailed shot of the upper part for better appreciation LOL. Also, a shot of her pyramid stud strip just for the fun of it :p

Back again with more Blondie help :p here's a pic of a "desmanteled" gauntlet, so maybe you can use the pic to guide you as to how to make the pattern. Make a note tho, if you're considering on wearing the extra pistol clips on her arm, leave an extra inch on the top part for better measuring :3
