Sucker Punch costume thread

I don't remember, the price they show on the website + shipping. So not that much if you compare to the prices they show now elsewhere.
If there are some regular books without the signature like yours, then my hypotesis may be right. For once I really think I got lucky ^^

And for the record, I might be selling my Babydoll holster pretty soon, if anyone interested ...
I'll be posting a thread for it with the pictures and etc, when the time comes.

Yes, please let me know... I would love a link to see it..and the measurements it will fit

hey dudes! awesome information, I can't wait to attack this babydoll project this summer once I get back from air force ROTC boot camp :p I'll be ripped that's fo sho haha
anyway, i've been making my plan and i can't find any decent photo that shows the babydoll top. is it a jacket or is it one whole piece? I see there is one button at the top by the collar, but are there others going down? in all of babydoll's pictures, it's like they strategically placed the scarf to cover that part up so i have no idea what to do :p help me out dudes!!

Hey welcome to the thread :p take a loot at this site, it not EXACTLY the one you see in the movie, maybe a stunt or smth. for ex the jacket does not have a pocket on the left side, the shoes are far way higher than those, details... but there you can see the buttons and fabrics. In my oppinion it's a darker blue. Like this one.

And the skrit is the other way around , lol.
And for the shoes, not that you asked, but in this pic you can see they are pretty high shoes.

Yes, In 15 days aprox i will create the thread, because it needs some changes, i'll post pics and measurements, dont' worry about that. Hope it suits your outfit !

:)

Hey there! I've been following this thread since a very long time, and finally decided to sum up courage and post :p hahaha just kidding.. anyway, my name is Alba, I'm from Argentina, and I'm a friend of Cereza (this really is something to say down here!)
So, I'm making a Blondie cosplay, which is around 50% or so.. maybe more but the parts are all separated so i dont count them as one (for example, the axe, the holsters, the boots..)
I'm currently working on the suit, and let me just tell you this to all you Blondie cosplayers: THAT GREY FABRIC IS SO CRAPPY TO SOW. I got very lucky by finding a neoprene looking like gray fabric, that stretches a lot and is super thin, unluckily my sewing machine just doesnt get along with it :p but im doing my best to finish this soon n_n
so.. I'll be posting a WIP pic soon, just wanted to say hi n_n

..and, hi Cereza! <3

Oh! one more thing you guys, I had ordered a pair of O'Neal Rocker elbow guards over a month ago... and just today got noticed that O'neal has stopped making them and the guys i bought it from wont be getting anymore of those (it was allsportsprotection.com in case anyone wanted to buy them) so I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how I could make the plastic parts of the guards..

hi everyone
I will be cosplaying babydoll at London film and comic con in July. But im havinng trouble with the gun holster anyone know where to find one or any tips on making one?

Working on a Babydoll costume. Have all the fabric, really lucked out in finding the right stuff (aside from the blue scarf, which is the right color but wrong texture. Still on the look out for something closer) Have the shoes, gun, stockings and wig, my wig's isn't 100% bleach blond but I'm so pale bleach blond hair washes me out something wicked (I'd post a picture but I don't think I can yet..)

My friend who does leather work is doing my holster, and sword that I'm modifying is in the mail! WOO very excited about this costume, even if everyone and there sister is doing it lol It's the most fun I've had working on a costume in a long while ^__^

Nobody´s stopping you ;)

Hit that little "mountain with a sun above it" icon, paste the URL of the picture in it and you´re good. Or just upload an image as an attachment to your post, it will be saved on the RPF server.

This thread definitely lacks pictures ;)

Okay awesome, I was just a touch confused. I'm used to forums with a slightly different layout. Thank you ^_^

Wig (ignore the derpy face I'm giving and camera phone quality. My real camera is MIA)

should have some photos later this week of the costume once I finish making all the bia's tape trim and sewing it on, and hopefully the holster too.

Keep us updated about the sword project. I'm actually looking into it to make a real replica of it myself so I'll be interested to hear about yours as well. ^^ Any ideas about the saya ?

Hey Cereza, thanks for welcoming me :) I have enjoyed reading from your's and everyone's posts about the development process through the making of the babydoll costume and it really has made me more confident since you guys have proven it really isn't impossible :p
as for the site you're referring to, do you mean this one?:
Hollywood Movie Costumes and Props: Emily Browning's Babydoll costume from Sucker Punch... Original film costumes and props on display
I have checked out this site multiple times, and thanks for pointing out the differences in detail, I didn't see them there before. But that scarf on the front of the jacket is still always in the way of showing what details are behind it grrrr.... like this pic:
babydoll-costume-and-sucker-punch-gallery.jpg

all i get to see is that one button at the top, but what else is going on behind the scarf, if anything at all??

I'm open to any and all feedback! :D

Oh CR*P, I forgot to give you the link, lol. I'm sorry, but you got it. Thanks xD ahahah.:$
When I did mine, I assumed they continued under the scarf. but here you have a photo for reference, it's pretty big, so here's the link.

They must be like 4 buttons, well, i sewed 4 to mine. :)

Just a heads up to others on this particular photo... it seems they flipped some of the details. Her left hand is wrapped and holding her sword, which should both be right hand details. The gun holster is also a left handed model (gun under right arm and clips under left arm) and here the clips are under her right arm. Also, the sword strap should go from right shoulder to left waist, not the way shown here. Yet the slit in her skirt is still over her left thigh, which is correct :/. Darn promo photos!

Awesome!! thanks for the pic, it's the best i've seen so far :D so did you use snap on buttons? from watching some behind the scenes of sucker punch on youtube, I noticed that the buttons on the straps that hold the belt actually snapped off, so I'm assuming the same would go for her button up part on her jacket?

F_ck yeh, yr right. Thanks for noticing. Everything is the other way around. What the ____ happened there?

The one's I see on the Hollywood Props & Costumes sewed on the jacket, are the same used on the skirt, but little. take a look at it again. The ones from the belt part of the jacket are indeed snap buttons. :)

Hiya! I've been lurking for a while, but I finally have a few photos to contribute. I threw my Baby Doll costume together for MegaCon and used up a pile of denim that I had in my stash (I know, I know- wrong fabric; it only cost me $2 at Goodwill, though). There are still a bunch of fiddly bits that aren't finished or need to be fixed, but I thought I would share anyway.

I also made a Rocket costume for a friend to wear to a convention this past weekend. Unfortunately, there are a bunch of pieces that were rushed or just left out (ran out of time as I started it just a few days before the convention), but she wore it proudly and was recognized by several people.

Dude these are totally wicked!! Wrong fabric or not, you got me beat on a sweet looking babydoll costume :) and the rocket costume that you threw together, wow, i'm blown away! awesome job again! what pattern did you use for the babydoll jacket? I'm having trouble figuring out how to start that... i must say, i'm a novice sewist and do not have the knowledge of where to begin on that :p

Thanks! I started with McCall's 2094 pattern. I shortened it, slashed into one of the sleeve pieces to make it puff more, cut down the neckline a bit, and added a sailor collar. I already had the pattern in my stash and used it because the darts looked like they were in the right spots for Baby Doll's top.

mdelgiorno17: Was your friend at MTAC? Good job on both the costumes!

I actually have progress to show everyone! Only about a month till Animazement so I must step it up a notch:
babydoll_wig.jpg

The sun kind of washed out the blonde *headdesk* I really love this wig though! Its beautiful. The pig tails are a little long, but I rather like the length of them so wont be shortening them. The blue fabric is what I am going to make the costume out of it. I went to this huge fabric store in Gastonia, North Carolina called Mary Jo's and when I found this fabric I loved it. It's a denim, but its not really thick or whatever. Kinda heavy though...maybe because I brought 3 yards and the width is really wide too.

I also have the skirt pattern and made the strap for the sword. AAAAH Im running out of time!
