Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Guy let me know if it's ok to pull and ship your clear parts?
I was just a little worried if your on the road, they could get lost
in customs if your not around to receive them?:thumbsdown

Please do mate, I've a few days off in July & am hoping to start knocking the guns up. If you send em marked as a gift at no value then customs should just pass em straight through.

Cheers mate

Way to go Guy! - fantastic paintjob. I love all those little dinks and chips along the side. Pure vintage ILM. Respect !

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

That is coming out great. Love the paint job and weathering. Are there any kit producers here for these A-wings, B-wings?

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

At last, after a 7 month stretch of work I have finally had some time to sit & try & finnish this build. Its been bugging me for months not having any guns on this A wing of mine. I was a bit worried as I really didn't know how best to tackle them, been coming home & just staring at it thinking it will never get finished.

Today I got every bit of tube, pipe & kit parts I could from every draw in the house & got to work.

This is the result of a very long day with a few V2's & now what you see here is a V3.

Sadly one side cracked but I'm going to repair it rather than start again. These are nearly 90% ABS tubing & just one piece of Alu pipe & some small bits of styrene. They weigh next to nothing so it shouldn't put any stress on the mount point (when I work out how to mount them).

Still need to add (and make) the top thinner parts for them but I'm pretty chuffed with the results so far!

Cheers mate, its been a long time since I picked up any model parts or painted & the bug is back with me, I've got nearly a month off so its time to get it finished.

I think you've built a whole fleet since I last did any work :)

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Is this a scratch build or the 1/24 scale kit?Sorry if I'm a bit at a loss.I haven't been keeping track of this thread, but it looks AWSOME!

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Its all in the title mate, studio scale.

Got some more work done today, I'm on a roll but everything else has took a back seat, and about bloody time.

Finished one off & 90% done the other.. The top section is all K&S tube with the exception of a small styrene tube.

There not perfect & some area's are just a representation of the opriginal, bloody hard to make these with out a lathe or any known parts.

Hoping to have these mounted tomorrow & possible all painted. I'm on my last dregs of primer & its a bit old so they need a good clean up.

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Some fany work for sure with allot of K&S aluminum&brass tubing. It would be a heck of allot easier with an engine lathe.Too bad I'm not allowed to work on my own projects at school, otherwise I'd turn some barrels for you.It be good practice for me.Be better to program it in on the CNC lathe.FaNTASTIC WORK gUY!

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Those look perfect don"t sweat it man!
I have no idea if the original ones were turned
on a lathe but i doubt it!LOL

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Perfect Guy !

I'm too ran out of Tamiya gray primer, and all the shops are out of stock :angry They only carry the white primer which is ****.
I don't know how I gonna finish my shuttle whitout primer :(

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Most Tamiya aerosols are in short supply right now Julien. As i read it, TS and PS are in abundance but, AS and Primers are low or no stock in Europe....i need some AS20 but its like £10 a can from HK right now, and ive another 5 weeks till it in UK stores.

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

Thanks Lee, I think I'll have to order one from HK , but it will take some more time... But I'm tired of visiting every stores and seeing only this white primer on the shelves. I hate it ! £1 is still a good price for us in France though, we use to pay more or less this price (and about £12 for a primer can) here. :(

Re: ID help Studio Scale A wing.

If you want a killer primer, try UPOL self etching grey....im using it on my Snowspeeder and Cloud Car right now and its awesome, cant say im a fan of the Tamiya...guess its just preference.
