Thanks so much guys!

Nacelles were fitted today. Video will upload tomorrow. I'm beat.

Got the NAV light boards from Randy today so I'll install them tomorrow and finishing the hull lighting and start closing things up. Nacelles are just plugged in now glue right now.

Video will explain all.

:eek :eek :eek :eek This thing is great. Now let's see about a mop bucket. Hell forget the mop bucket. I need a hydro pump to get all this saliva out of the house. My basement is flooded and the poor black cat down stares is on a kitty cat life preserver.

Good job on this build. Keep on going and it will be done. I am starting to see the end of the tunnel.

Steve, I hate doin' this to yeah man, but I'm having a rivet counting fit. The deflector spike on the production version of the 11' studio model was.... Silver - ya know.... before "HE" (Ed) got his hands on it. I did the same thing on my 22" build a decade ago becasue I followed what "HE" did on the restoration.

Enterprise and Botany bay models.

Here's my scratch built Copernicus from Star Trek Phase II's dish so you can see how subtle it is.

First, the CGI model...

and my phyisical model build. Used Alclad II colors

Just lettin' you know.

If you like "yours" copper... kewel. ;-)

The spike wasn't colored silver but aluminum.

In reality it wasn't metal.
It was made of wood.

Seriously give the guy a break, he hasn't even finished the ship yet.

The video is uploading. and thanks to all the observations however. She's not finished. The spike was glued on and I painted it all copper. This enamel takes days to dry. Then the Aluminum.

Thanks Max. Oh and hey. I don't think I'm going to do the freaking grid lines. So lets get that out of the way now. To each his own. ;)

I'm back to wiring the NAVS and closing the engineering hull for good today.

Thank God.

Steve, this really is one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen on The RpF. Fantastic! If I didn't have a new kid to feed...:$

Gorgeous work Steve. I know the amount of time you've already put into this, but still, you make it look easy. All the best!

Here's the latest video:

The Big E Story Part 38

Thanks guys and yes I will sell only a few. 1750.00 for a hull get no lighting or internal structure. Decals. All hull parts and clear parts. There is video a few back showing the kits and even one a customer added of him opening his up in two parts.

Steve

This is looking great. Found a comment about it being up in space as a center piece of a lounge of some sort. I do agree with that post.

Oh come on, rivet counters just want to see things done right. Let's ease up a little.

Love that last shot Steve, awesomeness!
You guy's know I was kidding right? But in terms of people coming out and trying to point out to this man that he has done something wrong on this model or overlooked something I'm not, Let him build his model the way he see's fit, there's alot of talented people in here but I don't think that they're are many that can do what Steve has made here, its like me going to the Cockpit of a plane and telling the pilot "Hey buddy your flying this plane wrong" when I never flown a plane before. Just my view guys, give me a 5 minute head start before you get the pitchforks and torches :love.

The problem is, the rivet counters normally do not have a clue.

I've run into it countless times, people who think they know so much about a subject. Only they do not have any info on the subject, expect for what they saw presented. So there is a perception issue, and the counters are trying to place their perceptions onto others. Worst of all most of them are not modelers, they only point out (what they think are)problems with other people's work.

In the ST community they are quite rude about it. At least that's been my experience, they are so annoying that it makes me not want to post anything anywhere. Much less wanting to interact with other Trekkies.

I'm not the only one that thinks this way. Be very thankful Steve has been showing his work, it is a rare thing in this community.

Sorry Steve for the rant, but it will help your hit count. :lol

That may be the case at times but it was not so this time . . . at least not about the point about the deflector spike colour, the fellow was right about that. Still I agree that pointing such minor things out while the work is in progress and to someone who obviously knows this ship quite well, is a bit premature at the very least. But it was not rudely expressed nor was he incorrect.
