Yeah, I'm currently at the son of one of the Leonis kids (more likely the sister, if the people who took her evend up involved with the First Order later on). I do also like the idea of her maybe being related to Sloane, even if he's her grandson.

And Bryancd, I know the leaks and rumors and how much credibility you see in the story outlines you swear by, but I'm still not sold on a couple things... Adam Driver looks in no way like he could be the child of Harrison and Carrie. Meanwhile, Rey not only has been commented on looking like young Anakin or Shmi or Padme, but this newest TV spot... I cannot see it as coincidence that Maz is talking about seeing the same eyes in different people and recognizing [someone's] eyes while the shot over that dissolves from Rey to Han. I still think she's the Solo kid, and Kylo was Luke's star pupil who goes Dark Side. Just my take.

JJ has said that Finn and Rey are having their last names kept secret because they'd be familiar to fans. The more obscure you get, the less likely they'd bother keeping it secret. I'd go with the top four, and not bother digging further. Calrissian, Windu, Sloane, Leonis. If it's not one of those, I'll be truly surprised.

It's possible, for sure. The Kylo relation is one I have more confidence in then Rey. She is still a wild card. I will say that Kylo being their son but going down a darker path of idolize get his Grandfather and then killing his father carries a lot more gravitas from a story perspective. Rey being just an abandoned child left alone somewhat mirrors Luke's journey and I think she is the Luke of this film.

Regarding the Maz dialogue, she says, "I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes." The implication is she is sees something in Rey's eyes she has seen over many years in the eyes of others. I think this sort of confirms she's a Force mystic of sorts and she is the one who leads them on a Force vision. I don't take it to mean "I know your folks and you look just like them!"

And in regards to my personal opinion that the current story synopsis is pretty darn accurate, it's hard to deny that most of what was put forth has been proven correct, this stuff about Maz case in point. It's ok to be skeptical but as speculation and rumor are proven correct time and again, you have to accept the veracity of the story synopsis. All the rumors implied Maz help our heroes on their journey, not that she was a despotic pirate.

That's still the most credible rumor. Nothing about him being related to anyone of note.

After reading a recent interview with JJ, it seems he is trying to mask relationships until 8, possibly.

I think to deliver the right emotional impact we will know Kylo is their son. I think JJ is alluding to Rey's backstory possibly remaining hidden until 8. MSW speculated that a few weeks ago. Another rumor that might be fact.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I would say that you are right. It would be tough to lightly imply the Han-Kylo relationship, not give it completely away, and still have the emotional impact of the Han killing.

I also think the line of dialogue Kylo says, "We will fulfill OUR destiny" strongly implies he is related to Vader/Anakin.
