If you tweak the brightness on that photo, it looks like the area above the "Back of Han's Shoulder" words is a red stripe like on the front of Finn's jacket.

The red discoloration is slightly visible even if you don't brighten it and there's also a darker spot that could be Finn's patch-greeblie. The "ear" looks decidedly more pink, than brown, though. The hair could be either- after going JFK on it, there does seem to be a tiny bit of perspective shift and Finn's hair does puff out enough by his ear. However, I'm not seeing the ribbing of Finn's jacket sleeve- right before the fade you see the sleeve fairly clearly and there doesn't appear to be ribbing on it. But would Rey look so completely destroyed if she were only crying over Finn? Questions, questions...

Hair would glow like that if light were passing through it BUT as I mentioned, there IS a slight perspective shift between the "head" and the "hair", putting it more into the background. The shoulder area is possibly out of focus enough to hide the ribbing, so maybe it is Finn after all.

Actually, I just read a supposed leaked synopsis that makes me think it really IS Finn lying there in the snow and that Han dies earlier. Damn, it's going to be a loooong wait.

Yes Finn is bested by Kylo and we do think he is injured pretty badly. The way that scene reads it's not Finn laying prone, unmoving, with Rey stopping to grieve. It reads more like Finn is almost down and out and see's Rey coming and throws her the saber. So more action less emotion and that clip in the trailer is all emotion.

Well, it makes sense if she's grieving for both Han and Finn... if he's in bad shape before Chewbacca shows up... if that is actually what happens.

I still think that Han dies, even if that isn't him.

yeah, but Kylo is still there, they are in the middle of a fight when Chewie arrives. The clip looks very static. She's over this body grieving. Is Kylo just standing there waiting for her to get her s@&t together?

I do think that Han does die, but I also think this is could be Finn after the lightsaber duel and the lights are someone (Chewie?) in the Falcon coming to pick them up.

Yeah, but that is clearly not Finn's hair.

That sliding panel Rey opens looks like a star field from the inside. I bet that's where the opening crawl is going to be. It will fool us into thinking it's a real star field when in fact it's these little holes on the panel she opens.

Definately looks lke lke a wipe, perhaps post initial sequence after the crawl.

Great observation. I believe you are correct. I never believed that lightsaber tumbling through space bullcrap anyway. That was kinda stolen from the novel "The Truce at Bakura" which was supposed to take place immediately after ROTJ.

Great observation. I believe you are correct. I never believed that lightsaber tumbling through space bullcrap anyway. That was kinda stolen from the novel "The Truce at Bakura" which was supposed to take place immediately after ROTJ.

I'm not a fan of the lightsaber in space opening sequence but it's a rumor that refuses to go away. No real alternative has come up over all this time.
