This guy claims to have seen the first four episodes. I don't know, I can see why ep. 3 might piss some people off, but it's just "lore" crap. I don't know that it will be as broadly hated as that tweet implies.

And quite frankly you do not have to know the lore to act in a show or movie. Certainly it helps a lot when you are portraying a well know character but when Star Wars came out in 1977 none of the cast knew anything about star wars and look how that turned out?
Jokes aside, its just silly we are bashing actors for not being as nerdy as we are.

I used Star Wars to escape that back then, now to see it’s happening in Star Wars.. heh… just bugs the living h3ll out of me
Wait til the damn show comes out, if it suxks complain.. but don’t complain about the actors.. they are doing what they are TOLD to do…

I'm in the same boat. I pretty much hate* every SW Disney product, but people should learn that's no reason to hate on the people who are trying to give their best to make an entertaining movie/series. If any to blame, there are other persons. But even then: bite your tongue, because they won't even hear you. Just 'punish' them with not consuming their products. And stop bulling actors.

I don’t think it’s an expression of personal animosity against the actor, per se…it’s more of an expression that comes out of the belief that Disney does not know / respect what has come before and misguided / bumbling statements like those made by the actor serve to confirm those beliefs.
It’s an unfortunate outcome of franchise / brand mismanagement. People are just waiting for Disney to continue to stumble and reveal their ineptitude.
I don’t take any of it seriously, myself.
I wasn't here then, but can some of the old timers tell me how bad the backlash was, when during the RotS BTS material, Lucas didn't know which lightsaber was Anakin's/Luke's?

I view in terms of an interview. If you apply to a company and in your interview show you know nothing about the company, you are t getting the job. If you are being asked to audition for a star wars role, watch some movies so you have a clue. Not doing so tells me you arent really interested in the part.
Aa for the ot actors, well hard to know anything about the lore or history when there was none, no?
