I genuinely prefer slim and ergonomic designs of Prequel trilogy hilts. Not the thermos looking chonky hilts even larger than Graflex 3 cell flashgun. I get that the technology for longer battery power made them do so, yet I don't understand why the prop team would not use carbon bladed stunt props from OT and PT, and rotoscope the plasma blade. Here's my quick and dirty prototype next to a ANH Graflex for comparison. It certainly is "beaucoup":

Or the long tradition of stunt props and hero props. Stunts being the thicker, chunky ones, and the heroes can be as nice and slim as wanted.I genuinely prefer slim and ergonomic designs of Prequel trilogy hilts. It's still hard for some of us to get past. When I think of a lightsaber, I still think of the OT sabers, with Obi-Wan describing them to Luke as "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." Maybe that's just old Ben waxing poetic in his twilight years, but it's kind of ingrained in me. These sabers don't look very "elegant."16 pages in and we’re still talking about the sabers being fat?
They clearly had zero idea of who the actual villain was by the time the box art needed to be submitted.
Relive the magic! Murder innocent Lesbians! Cover up your crimes by calling your friend crazy! Get slaughtered like a newbie! Lie to Yoda! All the fun of the show can now be yours!!!
Not what we want but it’s something
This is what I mean a few pages back when i said I thought they were cheating it a bit. I mean-- it's not a huge deal, stunt sabers have a long history of being different from the hero/canonical saber they represent.Allow me to illustrate what I mean:
