As always, I'm cautiously optimistic. Sometimes that pays off like with Andor, and sometimes you get a TROS lol.

…or, you get the stuff of nightmares:

I seriously don’t get the backlash over this guy that confused Anakin for Luke..

The internet is dragging this guy through the coals..

Come hang out with me for a day, I have a tendency of calling you Chris or Scott.. in my head I’m calling you by name, but my mouth says different

Simple mistake, and they are hanging this guy… it’s going to get to the point this Star Wars bullying is going to force actors to say “fECk it, I’m not touching this franchise”

I’m sorry.. I just don’t like bullies
Obviously, we all make mistakes. That's a given. I was literally bullied as a kid very badly. What that did was built up a hardness...It also motivated me to have a little courage. Eventually i grew and the bullying stopped. Then i started to defend people that were being bullied. What i think is getting lost in all this is(Btw, i don't troll the internet), a celebrity puts themselves out there for scrutiny...They reap the good with the bad. I have no idea what is meant by this guy getting "hanged" online. Do you mean jokes? Do you mean something different? For someone to take a slip of the tongue and joke about it is not a hanging in my opinion. If they are angrily trying to stone him, then yeah, i think anyone can cross the line. But that is on an individual basis and by lumping everyone together, that's what causes even more problems and leads to the gaslighting that Disney has perpetuated ahead of this release...by calling those that dislike their products, racists and bigots etc. They are the ones with all the money...they are the ones using the mass media to control a narrative...they are they ones that want to instigate a fight and are using inflammatory language that can literally ruin a persons life and reputation, so i'm wondering where the call out is for them being the bully because they fit the bill more than some youtube influencer making jokes about the slip of the tongue of an actor.

With that said, you know me very well brother. You know i joke a lot and you know i am NOT mean spirited, we are friends. Now imagine someone accusing your friend of being a bully for making a joke...then having everyone gang up on that friend, calling and labeling them a bully when you know that not to be the case.

I agree 100% that trashing actors personally is wrong...but disagreeing with them is not trashing. Same thing with companies and directors. Yet, now we have this environment that lumps everyone together, for good or for bad and that is what infuriates people...that, i wonder if it is intentionally done, or perhaps to get in front of a camera and purpously say something stupid, knowing the backlash you will get for it, then turning it around to play the victim.(Not saying that's what he did, but it's not out of the realm of possibility).

Now, if people start talking about the "bullying" and that stuff, it surely will be a distraction to the quality of the product that Disney put out. If we even dare to talk about that, and we start pointing out that, will the "bully" label come flying our way? Probably...mission successful on their part. That's not bullying? To be pushed into a corner for fear of being labeled a bully, a racist or a bigot just because you disagree?

If a cop pulls me over and says, "you were speeding" and i say, "why are singling me out?" ..."Because you broke the law", then i say, "You're bullying me for pointing it out and singling me out". The fact of the matter is, instead of complaining about that , i own up to it and pay the fine. Now if it's paid and he keeps puling me over for the same violation after i've paid the fine, that's bullying and abuse of power and a violation of another law.

It amazes me though, on the other end how an actor or director can use their "influence" and state political opinions and even make derogatory statements on camera, yet when someone says anything to the contrary they start whining and complaining about all the social media backlash. To me, i just want to say to them, "get over yourself and shut your mouth in public if you don't want people to disagree with you". But it doesn't bother them at all to collect all the money from these fans...just don't have an opinion about it?

I love you brother and i agree with your sentiment...i'm just really worried that we are all getting lost in misappropriation of terms and hyperbole. In any case, we SHOULD be discussing the product but spoilers etc. I get it...lol. I am not watching so i will have nothing to add about this show quality, but at the end of this series if a good majority is still beefing over "bullying", "harassment", "racism" etc, than the actual quality of the show, then we all have the answer to the intent of Disney's marketing strategy. For the one's that will love this show? Flood this thread with all the good things about it!! Tell us why it's so good!! Show your overwhelming enthusiasm for it to drown out any thing you might deem as negative, but man, if it's terrible, will people be honest? Or will they continue to tow the company line?

(I just hope we don't start personally fighting against each other on here..thus, the long post. I took the time to write all this because i personally care and sense the conflagration that will arise.)

To be fair, I can’t hate something that I haven’t seen yet. I be leery of it by what I’m hearing regarding it. But I can’t hate it unless I’ve seen it.

As for the actor's Anakin/DS goof . . .

IDGAF that he made the goof per se. But if I got an acting role in an unfamiliar franchise like SW, I would have watched (or re-watched) enough of the core SW content not to make the goof. I would have considered it necessary research for my new job.

But I acknowledge that it's getting a lot more difficult lately with the huge amount of Disney-SW content. Before the Disney sale you could binge-watch the entire franchise over a weekend. Now it's not realistic (or necessary) to have watched it all.

And Disney doesn't exactly publish a nice clear ranking system to understand what matters. I mean, ep#3 and ep#4 are absolutely critical, and yet there are movies & TV shows between them on the timeline that don't matter much. For a noob this can be very confusing.

I've introduced a few people to SW who never saw it in their youth. They are invariably relieved when I start by saying "Okay, look, the franchise is huge but there are basically 2 movie trilogies that are most important. And the oldest trilogy casts the biggest shadow. You can just watch that alone and it's enough to understand 70% of the pop-culture references to SW. That trilogy shows Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, lightsabers, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Ewoks, Yoda, etc."
