some times we have to over look things.. Starkiller base was the only thing that really didn't do it for me in ep7. I wish hey just had huge star destroyers with super weapons on them. why can't Star Wars do that? massive ship with a planet destroying laser gun?

that's another big problem, many have said it was a planet with the super weapon built from the inside out... I wish I could find the YouTube video of the physicist's tearing star killer base apart... they were talking about how the weapon is where the core of the planet is and how you would never be able to get anywhere near the core because of the force of gravity inside
it was actually a really cool video explaining how it wouldn't work, they weren't bashing the movie. just star killer base

Why would the inside of a planet have more gravity than the outside?
Bad science is not a plot hole.
Obviously at some point in time, Ben was stuck in a junkyard that happened to have a Rolls Royce jet engine dismantled, along with a lawnmower, kitchen sink and a British grenade. Seems like it was built on a dare. Perhaps Ahsoka said something like, I bet you couldn't build a lightsaber out of that British junk that fell out of the wormhole. The rest, as they say, is history.
