Star Wars Ahsoka (tv series)

For those who don't me, my RPF name is based on the fact that I actually named my daughter, Mara Jade. And in turn, we are both Mara Jade fans. I am not upset by the scrapping of the old canon but both my daughter and I have had high hopes that someday Mara Jade will return to the SWU in some way. Like a lot of other Mara fans, we have often hoped and speculated that with almost every new movie or animated show, there might be some glimmer of hope but alas any rumors have been just that.

I often thought that a retelling of the Heir to the Empire story might work if the switch out Luke's role for Ezra. Although I have not heard any recent rumors nor any real evidence that Mara Jade will ever come back, I keep my high apple pie in the sky hopes... up.

So I have come up with two scenarios in which Mara Jade could return based on existing characters. Like I said... there is no spark of proof of this, I am simply delusional at this point but want to share my ramblings.

1. Instead of Mara being an Emperor's Hand, she was an inquisitor. Morgan enhanced her skills using her magic to recreate her as Marrok. Get it Mara... Marrok? Marrok... Mara? Now that she was defeated by Ahsoka and released from the Magic, she can now start her revenge story which will ultimately having her down the road ending up with Ezra.

2. Shin Hati is the the name assigned by Baylan Skoll, but her real name is Mara Jade. After failing to kill Ezra as instructed, and in turn, Ezra kills Baylan, she will seek to kill Ezra to avenge his death. This would be similar the original concept of failing to kill Luke and Luke then killing the Emperor. Then yada, yada, yada... Ezra and Shin are having a baby.

Okay, that's my ridiculous pipe dream. You don't have to post why it's not going to happen because it's not going to happen. I just had to post this somewhere or I felt my head would bust. Go about you regular scheduled posting.
I try REALLY hard not to speculate or have my own expectations, because that leads to disappointment, but the thought did cross my mind that it would be cool if we learned that Shin was actually a Clone at the same point Marrok looses his helmet in a duel except Marrok isn’t a man it’s the same actor as Shin but with long red hair and it’s Mara Jade and they are both Clones. Then Shin could live or die but Mara could have a bigger role in the Filoni movie.

I am not sure many of you know this TV show but it was very popular in the 80’s on the other side of the iron curtain. When I saw Ezra I immediately saw the resemblance.

And the actor, Kabir Bedi has quite light colored eyes as well:

Well...I still really Like Ray Stevenson. It was also nice to see emotion and smiles from Ahoska. Made her seem more alive and believable.

I felt like I was waiting for something to happen that didn't during this episode (actually thats a good description of the show as a whole so far). A lot of missed opportunities. I run under the theory that each season should have a discernible, interesting, well written plot with an arc. Each episode for the most part should be able to stand alone and contribute to that. I don't see the last episode of the season doing much beyond being a cliffhanger.

Yeah the cliffhanger until Mando 4, Ahsoka 2, or a movie is going to stink.
Ugh, this just popped into my head - cliffhanger - during a lightsaber battle Baylan VS Ahsoka and Ezra, we see Baylan forced off a cliff (much like Ahsoka but with no water below) and - END CREDITS

I enjoyed a few parts of this one, but it was by far the weakest episode to me

Not liking that Ezra isn't more, curious about Sabine dodging questions, but it's highlighting that she got what she wanted, but she's the ONLY one.

I could see Sabine needing the Force, not being able to access it, & giving in to the Dark Side because of the power & ease of it. Next season could be her redemption or destruction.

Is there confirmed to be a second season of this show?

Also I see people talking about how Baylan sent Shin out on her own and cut ties with her but I didn’t see it that way. She was clearly impatient and has been questioning Baylan’s plan all this time, he just said “I know you want more, I’ll let you go, join your new Empire”. He didn’t abandon her, he let her go.

Watching now, had a question:
Is it just me or does it look like Hayden Christensen got the Henry Cavil/Superman mustache treatment? Something's up with his upper lip.

Thinking it’s just the lineup of that back light bar here. His de-ageing is apparent, but leagues better than the kenobi show. I really hope whoever did this seasons can go back and pull a George Lucas and edit the kenobi shows’.

Considering humans have been able to make glass for at least 5000 years, I can't find it too much of a stretch to think it's within the capability of a fictional more technologically advanced people.
Okay, I will give you that one.

For me one of the things I've really enjoyed about all the D+ shows is how good the 'ships in space' shots look. For as long as I can remember no matter how good a sci-fi TV show looks overall the 'ships in space' shots always looked kinda cheap and 'TV like' to me. Usually spaceships on TV shows suffer from bad mattes, bad compositing, CGI starships that look like cartoons, stiff or lifeless movements, no dynamic camera movements, etc...

I have been very impressed with the space ship shots in Mando, BOBF, and Ahsoka from the Razor Crest, the X-Wings, Hera's Ghost, Ahsoka's ship, Bo Katan's Gauntlet, big Capital ships, and more. Fast paced, dynamic movements, realistic lighting and compositing, a sense of weight and scale, and action-packed editing. Space ship shots on the D+ shows definitely have a 'big budget movie' quality to me.

I haven't seen anything from Disney saying they plan on a second season, though if it's doing well, they're probably considering it.
IMDb lists Ahsoka as a mini-series, rather than a series, though it leaves the time open ended (listed as 2023 -...). Considering David Filoni is using this as a set up to his Star Wars movie with Thrawn as the main villain, I'd guess any hanging threads will lead into that movie rather than a 2nd season. If there is a 2nd season, I doubt it'll happen any time soon.

When Obi Wan came out, they referred to it constantly as a limited series meaning the intention is the one season. They have not done that to Ahsoka. I have not read or heard anything that makes me believe they are limiting Ahsoka to one season.
