Star Wars Ahsoka (tv series)

and yet Sabine repaired The Phantom's serious external damage from cannon fire by jiggling some wires around in the cockpit. ;)
That's because someone decided that main characters (especially Jedi) often seem to have the Anakin "I can fix anything" gene. Why make that special just about him when they can make all new important characters special too. Granted Sabine seems to be a crappy Jedi but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest that if by the end of the series despite her being the worst Jedi candidate Huyang has seen in 25,000 years, she predictably really comes into her own and becomes a powerful Jedi.

Predictions for tomorrow night?

Hmm, let's see...penultimate episode, which means it will be very unsatisfying and is only there to tie up some loose ends and lead up to the big finale.
  • Ahsoka's whale will be blasted out of the sky by the hyperspace ring, but will make some kind of sacrifice to save Ahsoka and Sabine.
  • Sabine will admit the truth about them not being able to go home.
  • Baylan Skoll will begin to have second thoughts about Thrawn's cause.
  • The witches' cargo will be revealed as dead witches to be resurrected, a la Clone Wars.
  • Massive lightsaber battles will be poised to happen at the end, as a cliff-hanger.
  • Thrawn will get away. The war has to happen.
Let's see how close I called it!

Agreed. Made no sense to me. Not even close to the design language of the established universe. Ridiculous.

Neither did the entire Star Destroyer missing most of its deck plates, and all the troopers having damaged armor. Thrawn being the meticilous strategist/perfectionist that he is, I can't see him allowing that. Why would a Star Destroyer's worth of troops and engineers and resources not be able to conduct basic repairs over the course of a decade? We're not talking, this thing got thrashed by space whales and so did all the troops on board. Granted it's been a decade but if he was such a marvelous strategist and military leader, wouldn't he have taken over a significant portion of this new galaxy by now and rallied new forces together?
Not to mention..how did they repair the bridge glass for the Star Destroyer? It got smashed out by the space whales before they jumped. Was there a Imperial glass factory in this far universe? LOL

Simple, they obviously have an onboard factory to make spare parts and new TIE fighters. I'm sure that some people think this since fans seem to think every large starship in various franchises must have onboard factories, as little sense as that makes for societies with FTL capable ships.

Besides the obvious lack of qualified crew/personnel or tools, Thrawn also doesn't have the resources for a proper repair. Absolutely nothing suggests Peridea has natural deposits of durasteel (For the Chimaera) or plastoid (For the Stormtrooper armour), what we do know about Peridea's resources is that there is a metal with a gold-like appearance that is apparently appropriate for usage in starship hulls and armour. Also as an art-lover there is zero chance Thrawn doesn't love the metaphorical meaning behind Kintsugi
That's an excellent point about Kintsugi, and exactly what I was thinking when I saw the trooper armor. Especially with the red lashings, overt references to traditional Japanese culture.

Granted it's been a decade and who knows what experiences they've been through or what challenges they've faced, so if the destroyer does seem much more ragged than when we saw it last, then I suppose that makes sense after all. Good point about the lack of shipyards and repair resources.

I won't post it because I'm not positive what the thumbnail will show, but there's a 30 second clip up on YouTube that some may enjoy seeing. Nothing really spoilery, but it shows what a couple characters will be up to.

For those who don't me, my RPF name is based on the fact that I actually named my daughter, Mara Jade. And in turn, we are both Mara Jade fans. I am not upset by the scrapping of the old canon but both my daughter and I have had high hopes that someday Mara Jade will return to the SWU in some way. Like a lot of other Mara fans, we have often hoped and speculated that with almost every new movie or animated show, there might be some glimmer of hope but alas any rumors have been just that.

I often thought that a retelling of the Heir to the Empire story might work if the switch out Luke's role for Ezra. Although I have not heard any recent rumors nor any real evidence that Mara Jade will ever come back, I keep my high apple pie in the sky hopes... up.

So I have come up with two scenarios in which Mara Jade could return based on existing characters. Like I said... there is no spark of proof of this, I am simply delusional at this point but want to share my ramblings.

1. Instead of Mara being an Emperor's Hand, she was an inquisitor. Morgan enhanced her skills using her magic to recreate her as Marrok. Get it Mara... Marrok? Marrok... Mara? Now that she was defeated by Ahsoka and released from the Magic, she can now start her revenge story which will ultimately having her down the road ending up with Ezra.

2. Shin Hati is the the name assigned by Baylan Skoll, but her real name is Mara Jade. After failing to kill Ezra as instructed, and in turn, Ezra kills Baylan, she will seek to kill Ezra to avenge his death. This would be similar the original concept of failing to kill Luke and Luke then killing the Emperor. Then yada, yada, yada... Ezra and Shin are having a baby.

Okay, that's my ridiculous pipe dream. You don't have to post why it's not going to happen because it's not going to happen. I just had to post this somewhere or I felt my head would bust. Go about you regular scheduled posting.

Those are cool ideas, but I have a question for you since you're a fan of the character.

Would you still want to see her used in a different way of she doesn't have the relationship with Luke that she had in the EU?

I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed the character in the novels that I read, but I never really got that attached to her, maybe because going back to '77 when I was six, Luke wasn't that big of a deal to me.

Just curious, as I'd heard stuff before the show started, some debunked & some still possible/plausible.

The local junkyard happened to have a Star Destroyer wreck in the south corner of the lot, next to the Plymouth.

Considering humans have been able to make glass for at least 5000 years, I can't find it too much of a stretch to think it's within the capability of a fictional more technologically advanced people.

I liked the character while the whole story arc was being developed. During all those books, you really had no idea that they were going to end up together. Luke had other love interests and there was even a point where the reader ws lead to believe she was in a relationship with Lando. So the relationship with Luke is not a factor to me liking the character. In fact, I personally would like my scenarios above over a relationship with Luke since he ends up a sad hermit with no one and no academy. There are plenty of DC and Marvel movies that retell and re-envision the concept of a character while still keeping the essence of the character.

I've heard people speculate about this one and it would be interesting.
