Star Lord helmet AND accessories!!! by Helagak!

Fair enough. I've opened it in a bunch of viewers (3d Studio, Blender) and they all seem to show it like that.

I'm not sure why it looks like that. I'd wager it is from a texture I put on or something. Either way, it doesn't appear to affect the actual print.

I'm starting my foam mask!

Hey Helagak...

Would you be willing to post up an OBJ or Pep file of the Blaster?

I would REALLY appreciate it! Seem some of the edges are not totally
flat and my 3D printer is having a hell of a time....

hey everyone
just thought I should post pictures of my helmet I made (using foam)
I still need to insert lenses and paint the inside
how did I do for my first foam build?image.jpgimage.jpg 2.jpg

How did I not see this thread before ? It's exactly what I've been looking for ! Thank you very much Helagak, my form 1 is gonna have some work starting tomorrow !

Kevin, the print of the helmet that was too big, I suppose you left it a 100% of it's original size ? We have similar head size, do you 80% of the original size would fit ?

Indeed, just saw it in the first post. Must have missed it the first time. Thanks ! Very excited to start printing it !

First post here, just wondering if anybody has good ideas on how to get that sort of light up grid effect on the eyepieces for the Star Lord Helmet. My first idea would be to laser etch some plexiglass in a cross pattern, followed by lighting up the edges with SMT LED's. I'll try to get this effect working after I 3D print the helmet. Please comment if you've already gotten this cross pattern to work!

The movie one has a black mesh screen behind or in the first layer of lenses. The lights are behind that. Then there's a second set of tinted lenses behind those.

That probably gives it that recursive look they have in some images, and I imagine helps with visibility.

WHOA! I haven't seen those images yet, where are they from?! A reverse image search wasn't any help.
