Spider-Man Puff Paint Tips.. (Pics)

Also what puffy paint did you use for this picture?

So the answer to both those questions is to go with "puffy" make sure....because "slick" stays flat and shiny...I almost messed a suit up by not knowing the difference.

So use puffy for that "rubberized" effect.

And as for metallic I only used that on my brick pattern.

Came out awesome

One thing I've noticed while puffpainting my spidey suit is that if you're doing the red honeycomb details, it's really easy to get rid of any splatters or mistakes as long as you act quite quickly. Whenever I got an air bubble or splatter I used Q-tips to wipe the paint off. Very important though, don't just drag it along the mess up to wipe it off, I use a special technique but it's a bit hard to explain. I pinch the Q-tip between my thumb and index finger and I roll the Q-tip between my fingers as I wipe the paint off. It makes the Q-tip wipe it off without smudging more paint onto the fabric. Ik, sounds weird. Anyway, I just repeat it a few times and once dry there is no trace at all. This is on red lycra however, so I'm not sure how it would work on dye-subs.

Excellent tip!

Some great tips thanks guys.
I've just got a second hand suit that's been puff painted and the mask is a bit tight. Does heating the puff paint make it stretch more/easier? Is there a better way to stretch it?

Morning all,

Long time listener first time caller…….

I’m putting together a black venom-esque suit.

RPC Studio are doing up the new print but I’m going to puffy paint it myself.

As per the picture the webbing looks shiny-ish.

I have bottles of tulip black puffy paint.

What do you all recommend I go with. Venom has that slick, oozy quality to his webbing so I was hoping for tips.

Thanks all
