So you wanna unlock the Tie thread now?

I agree, and i see the TIE thread is now back in business, so, i ask again, where is the fairness in unlocking my own thread then, seeing as things are moving forward? Anybody?

Especially considering there were no more selling posts by either you or me in that thread after the mod warning.

So I guess the thread owners are responsible for other board member's posts now?

I have sent you a pm.

I don't think the Studio Scale section needs to be interfered with at all. I mean we asked for its creation many years ago so it would act as a separate entity from the rest of the RPF.
Which it has done so for many years without any issues. For the most part this section hasn't even had to have moderation intervention as we've handled most issues on our own. Which says a lot I think.

INT lists I think go hand in hand with the various kits in question. Separate threads in different sections of the board make things difficult to organize and stay on top of.

I agree, Jamie. Those are very good points.

There you have it gentleman. I mean how many artisans do you need to make a polite statement?
Must we be forced to forget about the RPF when it comes to amazing new opportunities for the fans of the models which we've spent years and decades even to release special low production kit releases on? It doesn't make sense to me. Nor does it obviously by many others...
One can easily take these opportunities to other boards... NOT that we want to. Not to mention the obvious help EFX (MR) has asked many of us for over the years for their future releases. Why make things so difficult?

Let the SS modelers be... please.

I would agree, if not for this also being part of the RPF. I can freely agree that the situation was handled poorly, but the staff does have a point. There are artisans in the Prop section as well, and they have to abide by the same rules that were enforced here. Interest and discussion threads are fine in the sections they belong, but once it comes to the time for money to exchange hands, it is time to put a thread in the JY, as you did Darkside.

I think there is a reason behind this, as it makes keeping track of sales, good or bad, a lot easier to handle. This isn't the RPF+Studio Scale, it's just the RPF. Those of us who have been here a long time have seen the changes, the ebbs and flows, that the board has gone through. As far as I am concerned, Studio Scale Models are part of the prop community, especially for the older films.

Maybe the Junkyard needs to be divided into subcategory's. I agree that things posted in the junkyard quickly get lost in a sea of people selling DVDs and complaining about getting ripped off. I don't see a problem with interests being posted in this area, but if they are going to start clamping down like this, the junkyard needs to be reorganized.

There are already subdivisions in the JY. There are FS/NP(Non-prop)/FT(For trade) and so on. Granted, it is more a filter than a "categorization" but it IS effective and DOES work.

Actually Qui Gonzalez if you aren't an active participant in any Studio Scale thread then your opinion is mute as far as I am concerened as their are a handfull of people at the moment trying to keep an organized hand on specific products offered to the board.

Wow, I did not know you spoke for the entire subdivision of the RPF. Frankly, Darkside, I came to bat for the entire thing without all of your vitriol when asked. The others here are asking for things that are already in place. And quite frankly, I peek in to SS and GM quite often.

Jamie may be acerbic but his points are usually sound. From a customer's point of view, for anything I'm following I'd much prefer to have sales dealt with in the original model thread. Failing that, proper subsections for the JY are *necessary*. SS stuff is swamped by 1:1.

I'm sure it would not be much to add a modeling tab. I mean, they have tabs in the JY for just about everything else. I am not going to begrudge him his points, that much is certain. I'm just saying, we are ALL part of the same forum "family". You can't ask to be included in some parts, but not others. I frankly enjoy the modeling forums. They are great reads, and the skill that the artisans in here have for kitbashing, research and finishing is awe inspiring.

Likewise.

I could live with tabs, but I tend to avoid the JY - just can't keep up with it. I'm too analogue or something.

Thinking out loud here, the prefix (tab) idea has promise. Also don't forget that the links to the interest and for sale JY threads would be in the original SS or GM thread.

I am trying to come up with ideas that will allow us to keep the uniquie identities of the sub forums, but also keep them within the framework of the forum as a whole.

Read into it as you may... I've been in touch with the majority of people whom create such kits over the years and we all generally feel the same way. "Vitriol", :lol such an amusing word. If you knew me and what I stand for it is the truth and for the continuing passion of honest artisans and nothing but.

I can and will say that for the most part I speak for the majority of the SS modeling section of this board and for the majority of the SS industry as it exists today. What I have to say isn't always popular but it is always in the best interest of the hobby.

I've never jacked people around in the prop community. Back when I offered Sterling's for the masses those individuals could always email or call me when they needed to, and the same goes with anything I am am involved with in the SS modeling aspect of the hobby. My interests have changed over the years but my passion for accuracy and customer support will never change.

The RPF JY doesn't belong in the SS modeling world. Never has and never will...
