So Cal Prop Party!! PICS START ON PAGE 33!!!!

16:9, 4:3 or 2.35:1? THX equipped I hope!

Well, considering he said "widescreenedness," and that he's old school, I'd say 2.35:1.

But since he's also a gearhead type o' guy, with an obvious love of the Wars, he could be the same as VistaVision -- 1:66.

Captain Eo sorry bud for not talking to you more. After you introduce yourself to me I got distracted by some-one else and lost my train of thought. I went over to see your props. Really cool swords.

No worries man! Your Rocketeer stuff was amazing! And thanks! :thumbsup

We are almost home (10 minutes away now) and am finally having a chance to read this thread. I'll post more later but wanted to thank those who organized and all who came for a great time. Art and I had such a blast and definitely want to make this an annual trip for us. All my pics are those posted on the rpf's facebook page so enjoy. I know Art will be posting pics soon. Again, we are tired but had a total blast and enjoyed meeting all of you!

You west coast folks have all the fun. I guess we could have one in like Pittsburgh for everyone in this area, there are enough of us in NE ohio and PA lol.

So much I want to post, but I am just beat. What an amazing weekend! I did throw up two shot of Rob's Death Star in his thread so check those out. Will get the rest of my pics uploaded to flickr tomorrow! Huge thanks to everyone for all that you did. I am headed off now to enjoy a nip of my Highland Park 18 year. Thank you very much for that... you know who you are!

Hey All,
Nice little party you had there! I am glad the kiddies liked R2, he is always fun. And I made a little girl cry, hit a a few young men in the face with a full frontal blast of CO2, picked a fight with Herbie the LOVE bug... and won
....so all in all, I had a great time!

But we have a issue.....

MUNSON did NOT get nekid and dance, so please refund the full amount of my ticket to my Paypal account :p

Chris

/\ Thank goodness Munson did not! Perhaps people were expecting Laam? But that would be very unlady like!

I think my little girl is the one you scared! She overcame that fear rather quickly though! My son was the one that was a little nervous around R2-A1 BUT the moment we got home that night he drew his very first R2 unit! And for his birthday in 3 weeks he wants a remote control R2 unit!

Ummmmmmmm...anyone know how to build a remote control R2 unit for about under $50? hahahaha

Hey Rob! Are those brewskis or spray paint on top of pizza boxes?:lol

Nice space station!:love

Charles - its actually suds on top, and "dead soldiers" (empty spray cans; kept so I can tally costs), all sitting on top of boxes of Pergo.

I do dig how the ball looks in that image (mine, that is...!).

Glad your kids made it, and glad they got to see an R2 unit!

Alright, finally got a good night of sleep and ready to give my report!

The party was a huge success! There are certainly some things that can be improved for next year, but overall it was absolutely fantastic and even better than expected. We had an amazing array of everything this site has come to represent; replica props, screen used props, models, costumes, and even full-scale cars! What more could you ask for?

It was very interesting to see what was represented at the party. I might be mistaken, but it was very heavy on BTTF, Rocketeer and Aliens, with a little of everything else thrown in for good measure.

It was great to put faces to so many names and to meet so many of our members. It really helps to look at them differently on the board now that I know their face and can hear their voice when they post.

Seeing Rob's Death Star was obviously a major highlight and I also got a chance to visit Dreamworks Animation on Monday thanks to a fellow RPFer.

It was super encouraging to see how many people are really happy with the changes we have made and the direction we are going. I was somewhat expecting to be beat down at the party, but everyone was extremely positive!

Huge thanks to Brad for organizing all of this and making it happen. These things don't just make themselves. It takes a lot of work and a lot of coordination.

Also, thanks to everyone who lugged their props and costumes in as well as those who donated prizes!

Looking forward to doing it again next year!

Now we just need to organize an east coast party...

PS. My pics are uploading. Should have them up in about an hour.

Is that Harrison? I thought it was Brad, afflicted with the same syndrome as Benjamin Button...

LOL! NICE! :lol

Are those lines from the movie: "An Astromech and a Gentleman?"

Chris, thank you SO much for bring your droid. My kids are still talking about meeting R2D2 (I know it's not R2) ;)

Meal tickets next year? No matter how much I begged the runners they said we were only catered for 25 guests.....? I think there was at least 40 of us.

I can only eat so much leftover Ceaser salad and all!!! I did eat the last remain 4 rolls though!!! Tasty!

I talked to the D&B coordinator and told her there were at least 35-40 people eating, so this frusterated me the most. As Art said there are things to be worked out and made better, so we will make the changes as needed. Anything else people felt needed to be changed please PM me.
