Re: So Cal Prop Party!! 3-6-2011 **TODAY!!!**
Nope, the valet just got a LOT of extra business because people wanted to park their Mercedes next to the Batmobile.
Great party. Next year we need a bigger room, it was fantastic to see all of the creativity we managed to stuff in there.
Most of the movie car guys as well as my mother who stopped by briefly at the end made lots of comments about how much creativity and artistry was packed into that little room. From the original Silent Running robot arm, to the fellow in the back corner (sorry, I'm terrible with names) who managed to fit a stunning electronic light show into every piece he had, to the rocketeer jet pack, to the R2 unit with a compressed air blaster which got into a fight with Herbie... the list goes on and on. Fantastic pieces out there.
Last year I was blown away by the generosity of one of the members who gave me a vintage SOL flash gun to build a "real" Darth Vader lightsaber for my cousin who has downs syndrome. This year I made an attempt to pay the favor forward with a couple of books, bringing the car group, and I made our resident Dr. Who fan quite happy with a Tom Baker scarf which was just taking up space in the closet. Next year I'll see what I can do to top that and come a little closer to the flash gun level of generosity.
