SDCC08 - Dr WHO Replicas!

Both came in today. Glad it wasn't windy. The FedEx notice was lying on the ground. Very cool flashlight!

wow. That was called for. Bitter much? Apologies for trying to help a fellow prop enthusiast keep things in perspective, and avoid wasting precious energy and emotion on a shelf trinket.

Oh come on, Matt. An ego as big as yours can handle a comment like that! :lol

mine came in and withstood...HUNDREDS of times.

Can you imagine in the write up MFX says its not for carrying around?! :p

Here are some of mine! (I love the Canon Rebel)

Sweet pics man, thanks for the comparison shots too! Piece looks great overall, i'm nt a huge fan of the slider, but it works

You are welcome...and thats not even ALL the pics I took so far :p

Do you not like MFX's slider or just the slider in general on the prop?

Wow, I never realized how close to accurate the small pen torch is. I'm really liking these things based on the pics, but I'm making myself feel better by repeating in my head over and over that they don't make sound. Very good looking though.

Does it bother anybody else that MFX didn't take the time to properly polish the emitter? Wasn't that one of the things we pointed out on the SDCC prototype that needed fixing?

Sweet, more pics! lol and its just the slider on the Mfx one, alittle too flat, but it still looks great, thats the way it was on the original filming prop right?

I got mine, it kicks A**!!!!!

The only thing I was kind of dissapointed in is that there is not a numberd plaque (well any plaque) that can be displayed with it. I was sort of hoping there would be like a "#30 of 500" type display plaques.

I do not think the prop itself could have been done better though. The slide action feels nice and tight. It looks dead on!!!!!

After looking at some screen caps I think the top is supposed to have a bit less of a polished look than the aluminum parts of the body.

They make a nails-on-chalkboard sound when you extend them. Like metal on metal. :lol

They come with a small wrench. Mine didn't, but my wife's did.

They are also not numbered.

Some more pics :love

This piece definitely feels like a pro prop, not a toy. I know they put the "handle with care" warning in there but these do not by any means feel like they are cheap and about to fall apart to me. I would bet these could easily be used as the hero props on the show and hold up as good or better than the real ones.

The flash sort of washes out the color so here is a no flash shot.
