Sar Wars remake

I don't think it will happen in his lifetime, but there is no reason that driving enough dump trucks full of money to his heirs they might agree.

Based on my observations of remakes here is what it would look like :

1) Redesign everything. New Falcon, droids, styles etc. Maybe they'll go retro and instead of the "lived in" feel of the OT, we'll get something more Logan's Run or 30's serial.

2) Fix the characters. It wouldn't be beyond the writers to change the characters from the bottom up. Tall, leggy blonde Leia, female Chewbacca, Asian Han Solo etc ...

3) Bigger, faster, better : More Explosions, bigger Death Star in a completely new configuration. No more swinging over a pit, it's going to be radiation filled deathtrap and the Stormtroopers won't be just guys who can't shoot straight, they'll be a Terminator's nightmare (except when it comes to the heroes ...)

4) Replotting, reimagining, new ideas because that is creativity in Hollywood. Major changes, new twists.

Bottom line, we'll see a new SW film around 2050+ and it will probably be bad enough for the old timers to remember old Uncle George and how his films were better.

Why not make the final three movies? Huh...whu....yeah?

Wheel all the originals back in and make the last Triology to end all Triologies!

I just made that up.

Im all for a new trilogy (ep VII - IX) but I would prefer to see them done by a different director with an old-school affinity for models instead of CG.

I want to see "Saw Wars: A new trap", with the puppet thing saying "Hello. I want to play a game. You're in the Sarlaac's belly and have an hour to get out, using only the force and whatever you can fashion out of the body of Jar Jar Binks, the creature next to you."

"Meesa? Yousa mean meesa gonna DIE??"

Star Wars can not be remade, it was a reflection of the time in which it was made.

A remake will only ever be a remake.

The good thing with Star Wars is that there is SO MUCH to to tell before anyone even thinks about a remake! There are thousands of years of history before the 6 movies, thousands of years after... I'm sure mankind will see a couple of Star Wars trilogies more before its extinction, but I highly doubt they will be remakes. They can even just ignore what happened in the originals and start a new story all over again about a new evil empire and a new civil war, in another time period. That would almost be a remake, but people would not complaint as long as classic characters and plots remain untouched and they just create some new ones.

If something like that happens, I would like to still be there and watch it (I don't really care if it's good or bad, I just want more epic space opera in my cinema.

Joss Whedon + Star Wars = something I REALLY NEVER want to see. What's going on with Stars Wars now is bad enough as it is. We don't need a Buffyverse twist to Star Wars.
