Getting into painting busts and maquettes.

I have been sculpting here and there for a while, but I also want to try to paint some stuff. I have some items that are cast in opaque resin, but I also have some sculpts that I want to make into translucent resin casts. I'm stuck on the paint materials and how to use them for these pieces. I have some fw inks, white acrylic paint, and a cheap airbrush. But I'm not sure what else I would need. What would be the best thing to use for thinning the paint? What brushes do you guys recommend? What are some techniques that I can use for painting skin?

This is a great flesh tone painting video. It’s on a small scale statue but the same techniques all apply in some form or another.

The Stan Winston school has videos on painting which are great too. Ultimately you just have to find what works for you, there are as many ways to do this stuff as there are people doing it.
