ROTJ detonator charges

Building one of these now, and this thread has been amazing to follow. And thanks roygilsing for the vents. Those have been a dream of mine to use for a long time. Just in case a future-crafter stumbles on this thread, this image by "Parts of Star Wars" on IG and FB has a lot of the parts identified:

I was watching the Ewoks Battle for Endor Movie and saw Wilford Brimley's character use a modified Bunker mine. Looks like it got a paint job and added a few pieces.

Go back to page 8 and take a look at the info roygilsing posted about it,

Thanks! The complete kits are still available in my shop:

No STL files download I'm afraid. The development time was substantial. I don't offer it for free!

And neither should you! Most people don't understand how much time and effort goes into making something like this. No doubt countless hours. You should be rewarded for your efforts.

That was a fun read!

Just finished printing a file from Thingverse and now I'm off to make it fit together and not look like poodoo.

I enjoyed the VanOaks video, and picked up some of the antiquing wax (different brand) to try out rather than the stuff I'm currently using.

I forgot to get a battery holder… And the red lenses were expensive. I had to buy the light assembly just to use the lens, but it gets me a red flat top fresnel lens.

LEDs are red too, so it is toned down a bit.

5-position switch will click through three positions and then turn one light on at the fourth; both lights at the fifth.

Magnets for the base plate.

I got them from thingverse as well. Must be the same ones.

My build plate is a tiny bit small so the main body has some flat spots I’m dealing with (painting resin on and curing it). It also developed a “flare” outward at the top, which I trimmed on the lathe. Then, about where the top platform is, the OD sunk in a bit. More resin and curing.

Finally, the piece I forgot won’t print. I tried twice today and it keeps printing on the film. I’ll take a look later and hopefully get it done tomorrow. Maybe layer cure time is short? Or it needs support. Dunno yet.

The bottom skirt is sanded and in primer now.

I have arbesh letters in werd now, but I don’t know what the word is on the side of the bomb.

I used the files by Van Oaks props, they are by far the most accurate on thingiverse .
I used an FDM printer ( creality cr 10 ) to make mine.
I don't know if arubesh was used in RotJ , the letters on the bomb don't seem to be it .
I just drew my lettering freehand with a thin black ink pen .
