I put mine together for the most part. I needed a bulb assembly so I just ordered one. Said 2 weeks to arrive so I'll go as far as I can without it.
My question is , who was sick enough to decide to cut holes in the flash handle to design this saber. I get using a graflex and making it look like the other Vaders but why the holes?? Swiss Cheese Graflex

The screws were installed to stabilize the dueling core and rod during heavy simulated lasersword combat…essentially to keep the core and rod from flying out the front of the flash handle.

Exactly. I can only assume they did the Barbican pattern but then had to go back and add more bolts in between. My guess is to keep the tube round as maybe bashing it around loosened things up? Who knows..

The other part we technically don’t know, Roy took care of for us. I haven’t seen any proof of how they held the tang in the core on the real ones, my guess is an M5 grub screw flush with the surface of the core and slid inside the flash

I added the blank piece I made or I should say cut out of a thin metal sheet and used JB Weld to attach it.
So is this a dishwasher finish saber or how are we dulling these down?

For my kit it's sandwiched between the core and the flash guts and is held tight by the screw through it all.

I was hoping for something like that. I didn't have my graflex bulb holder so I ordered one from Roman. The only reason I was concerned is, I don't have a screw for the eye. I can get something for that. Thank you

I actually took a vintage apart, and casted the guts, then took it apart and casted those guts.

Roman was selling empty flashes for awhile dirt cheap so I was buying those and then using my “cast spacer”, with my resin mixture you couldn’t tell the different in color, throw some dust in there and it sells it as real

I have the molds in the attic of the shed, I have to dig them out

But if you plan on doing a lot of them, casting doesn’t hurt and is much cheaper then buying and destroying graflex guts..

I made a video showing and explaining this.. but that SD card was corrupted.. lost that along with a lot of other commissions I did for Eaton..
