Spare Parts Vader Lightsaber

I was clearing out some of my extra parts to make more room for my Inquisitor saber, and it turns out I had enough to throw together a Vader!

The main body is a strobonar futuramic 64 with ANH grips from an old Graflex 2.0 kit stuck on. The midband is a replica Graflex clamp painted black and an inaccurate PCB card. Kept the sidebars silver for a more ANH feel.

The emitter is a Graflex slave unit that I was lucky enough to find on the 'bay a while back. I just used aluminum tape to hide the join between the pieces and cover the Graflex text. I removed the bunny ears but didn't feel right bending the tabs down, so I made a d-ring housing out of scrap plastic that plugs into the hole. The collar is the plastic insert from the strobonar with a knurled thumbscrew stuck in. This is a very similar setup to the Gary Kurtz stunt Vader, but I opted to leave the collar piece untrimmed to set it apart a bit. Lacking any wiper hooks, I used a ball-catch door latch for the shroud panel.

It's by no means accurate but I rather like how it turned out. I think I'll make it a wall display piece!

Omg I did this with a graflex clamp too, and love the look! also using the graflex slave unit like the weird Kurtz thing is very cool, how did you fix the body together?

If you beat this up to hell and then told me it was something that LucasFilm made for promo purposes before '97, I would almost be willing to take you at your word.

You know, after seeing this reply it suddenly looked too clean and "new" to me. I decided to try weathering it a bit, and now I think it has much more character. Thank you for inspiring me!

It was attached by way of a section of plastic drain pipe, some washers that tightly fit inside it, and a 2 inch bolt. This whole assembly was stuffed into the top of the Strobonar and the slave unit was screwed on. I wish I had a picture, but the only way it's coming out now is if the greeblies come with it
