Robocop Reboot (Pre-release)

I'm more worried why he's pulling a Michael Jackson and holding his crotch unless that bike isn't comfy lol

I really like how you can see the separation of the legs from the pelvic/abdominal area and the arms from the upper body in that concept art. Makes him look really like a robot, and that would be fantastic use of CGI.

I think they said that design will appear in the film, but only as one that's rejected by the people building him. In other words, a total slap in the face to the fans that grew up with it.

Man I hope not...

What's the point in rebooting a franchise if all you're going to do is flip the bird to the fans that made it big in the first place?

Because the film makers don't give a squat about the fans who made it popular, they're going after the slack jawed masses with tiny attention spans who see this and will go because it looks like Iron Man.

:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm...Please be wrong, that looks pretty good. I hope that you're wrong man:unsure

And I know people are all hung up on the arm but I think it could be used like his last connection to humanity. Like his nerves are kept in tact and he can feel with it...or something. I wish I was a nuero-sturgeon so I could make you understand

I don't think that's entirely true... Fact is that existing fans have to be counted on for a chunk of your box office.

Maybe, but it would probably be a small chunk, comprised of Robocop fans who will go to see this new one out of curiosity.

I think that's what Total Recall thought and that's why it flopped so hard. "As long as we use the name it doesn't matter what we do" isn't the right marketing strategy. Kids don't know anything about Robocop. Your marketing depends on people who do know the classic liking your new film and telling their friends. Otherwise why use the name?

If you're rebooting you have to look at what made the original a hit and focus on that. It's of course not an exact science but generally what resonates with an audience will resonate again.

Robocop was about the struggle between man and machine as well as redemption against corruption.

The corruption thing is easy, the man v. machine thing much more delicate. They've missed the boat already making him look like Iron Man (based on the pics we've seen). This can't be an officer in a suit, it must be a mechanical man.

i just heard about this not to long ago so a reboot of robocop huh is it going to be like over the top gore or whatnot?
