Hello all,

I've been wanting to redo my Robocop Auto-9 replica, to make it accurate to the actual prop sold by Propstore, since there are some very distinct differences from the versions used in the other movies, which is what all current replicas seem to be based on. To make this work, even for a personal copy, I need to do it as a small run and am therefore gauging interest.

This will be an addon kit for use with a Beretta 93R replica. (I intend to use a functional airsoft for my build.) Parts will be mostly 3d printed, a mix of resin and PLA depending on durability/weight to keep a firing version, with a metal barrel insert.

Propstore version:

My old model (missing the top front sight and barrel insert):
These parts were printed with sintered nylon... y'all know that 'old' type of 3d print material that was so durable it was impossible to saw, but also so grainy that you needed a ton of filler-primer to smooth it out! Nowadays of course I use my own machines and materials that are easier to work with.

My old model (completed):

Parts:
extended barrel, rear sight, grips
Cost: $280 shipped
Time-frame until the parts are mastered: Feb-April

IMPORTANT:
Please, I ask you to only sign up if you are committed to getting a set!
I have zero discretionary hobby funds right now, and since no funds or deposits will be collected until the parts are ready, I will have to "borrow from the rent" to pay for R&D materials. (In other words, if this run doesn't happen, I don't get a set either.) Funds will only be collected once I have a tested set of parts that fits the Beretta.

I'd like to get at least 5 onboard.

Cheers!

The black material on picture is Sculpteo "Clip resin":

Yes, that pen is a replica, not working, all is design and 3D print.
I designed the nib block and feeder to be printed from black"Clip resin" from Sculpteo.
It has a good black color, and both surface and dimensions are accurate.
More important, it's PU based, so it can be sanded down and polished.
That should be the best choice for your project, as the material wouldn't need any paint to get very accurate and realistic finish.

I realize this is a bad time of year to start a run (even if it won't actually be completed for another couple of months), but I'll leave it open for a few more days.

Any chance you will sell the STL files when you're done? I purchased another set of files to 3D print a complete gun, but it might be cool to print the parts to bolt onto an airsoft 93R.

I made it a principle many years ago to not sell files. It opens up too many cans of worms.
