Robocop Reboot (Pre-release)

Is he actually trying to hide his Robo Weiner in that shot, or what? That is a top bomby, camp as a row of tents pose lads!

he's definitely covering his robo weiner. maybe in this one, he still is human in the groin area.

for me the whole suit just looks too much like an iron man/batman reject suit.

its too busy.

they could easily have taken the original robocop suit design and streamlined it significantly without altering it that much. they could have made that original suit skinnier yet it would still look machine like.

this just looks like a suit, and we are supposed to believe this is a cyborg?
It just makes you appreciate how good Verhoevan and the sfx team were on that movie, and Peter Weller's actual acting, that i don't even think that he was a man in a suit. He actually WAS a cyborg, thats a good he was in that role.

I just hope this "suit" doesn't make a mockery of the original.

I'm curious if they plan on sticking with the serious mono-tone voice of the original or if they're gonna give him personality. I sure hope he sounds like a robot.

Did the fan community *really* make such a stink that the movie was delayed and the suit re-designed? (genuine question - no irony, disrespect or sarcasm meant in any way).

I like the fact that the joints on the limbs appear to be mechanical ball joints/hinges. I was thinking how it would be easier to accept if the cyborg was articulated more like Sonny in "I, Robot". :) This seems to follow that thought, but beefier.

I know we're all going to cry "Iron Man!" "G.I. Joe!", but to be fair, short of giving him a square head or making him look like LEGO-man, humanoid robot designs are going to be similar. I'd like seeing him a little less "muscle man", but this is at least 1000% better than the black rubber suit.

Edit: sizzle reel was pulled today; may still be here (I just watched it): http://therealmcast.com/2012/11/16/...paign=promo-video-and-concept-art-for-robocop

I personally like the more "I, Robot" feel for the design, that concept art image (and I'd assume first version in the movie if there's going to be multiple) is going to be the costume I build, if any.

I think my biggest disappointment lies in that they didn't go for a more "Deus Ex" feel and the final suit isn't both silver and black.

That concept art looks outstanding...Honestly, like Warpig said, any armor we see out here in film will have some similarity to something we've already seen.

The original Robocop outfit was great because it was the first of it's kind in a serious movie. Since then there have been many mechanized humanoids in film. You can only do so much before comparisons are made. As long as it has some similarities to the original and is not a Transformer I should be happy.
