Re: Ripper Helmet from Tank Girl --ALMOST DONE!

not yet, my silicone comes in the mail on Tues. gonna try to get it molded on Wed.

I got your pm. It's not letting me reply, so...

I think you are correct, Good call, and no problem.

I think that's it...

Ok, bye.

Re: Ripper Helmet from Tank Girl --ALMOST DONE!

awesome progress. you could paint these babies in an infinite amount of ways. very very cool project. what are you thinking of doing for the hinge system? or are you just leaving it closed face?

Re: Ripper Helmet from Tank Girl --ALMOST DONE!

i want to put a hinge in it. that's why i notched out that piece right before the ear on top.

i figure i'll just do it the same way they did with one pivot point screw on an arm that connects to the face plate.

the silicone is finally done.... i hope it's thick enough.
just need this to cure and then i can get going on the mother.
i had to revise the seams for the mother like 4 times. it took a bit of looking at it to see how i was going to make it so it didnt get locked in. i think i need 6 different pieces.

if anyone sees an easier way, please let me know.

thanks everyone!

Several days of silence makes me nervous for you... I hope it wasn't a colossal failure, like my first molding experience.

Re: Ripper Helmet from Tank Girl --SILICONE DONE.

nah, just trying to find time to do it while life interrupts. i did run out of plasti-paste for my mother jacket. i have some ordered. just one more piece to do. i won't know if there is a failure for a while. but, i think it should be fine.

Re: Ripper Helmet from Tank Girl --SILICONE DONE.

Hi
In my experience the silicone layer is too thin.
I think you should split the mold in two sections..

not sure what you mean.

the silicone layer should be fine. i am going to split it on the bottom of both ears.
the mother jacket is in 4 pieces.

so here is where i am while i wait for the rest of my plasti-paste.

Re: Ripper Helmet from Tank Girl --SILICONE DONE.

alright! the mother jacket came out great. the silicone jacket came out great!
i just need some time now to cast up a few. i learned a lot doing this. a few things i did wrong but will do better next time.

the sculpt came out perfect, i could remold it again if i needed to.
