Rick Grimes Colt Python Thread... Let's see em. I know you have them!

SO... I'm looking for a Rick Grimes Colt Replica of sorts... Right NOW I'm thinking of going the Denix Colt route, and seeing if I can make it a little closer to an actual colt.

http://www.denix.es/en/catalogue/74/62/#.VGaUQ3ff9EM

The obvious problem right off the bat is it's black. Now from what I know of messing around with a Denix Mauser, is that the black comes off pretty easily, but since I've never completely taken the black off a Denix before, I'm not sure how crappy or great it may turn out.

Can I strip it to metal and polish it up? Has anyone done this?

Are there better options?

I'm in Canada, so a real Colt is not an option... and I don't want to get a gun license anyway...

So if you got them out there, especially if you used a Denix, lets see em!

a couple years back I was going to offer castings off a real steel but the interest wasnt there.

Well, it's just a Python isn't it? Technically it'd be a prop from any countless number of films and TV shows.

Thanks for the link madmax - appreciate that.

However, that's an 8" not a 6" barrel but it still looks superb!

Yes you're right - members of the public can't buy it - small print confirms what you said:

"For a Realistic Imitation Firearm you have to prove exemption in the form of either your valid UKARA number,
a letter from the film, tv, theatre manager or a copy of your re-enactor group membership details
"

I decided to buy the 6" version (in bright UK orange) and spray / paint it myself.

Not perfect - the grip is wrong - but it does for the outfit.

Slightly OT, but looking at photos of Rick with his .357, you ever notice that 90% of the time you see him firing it he never uses the sights on the gun to aim? :confused

Morlar check out http://www.airsoftworld.net/airsoft...volver-8-barrel-spring-powered-stainless.html

you need a UKARA for this one but they do a 2 tone model it's out of stock at the moment.

NeoRutty, i have 2, 357 magnum/pythons that are airsoft/airpistol,1 is black .1 chromed.i'll try and post pics later

I do like the look of those, and stainless steel is a plus, but not sure the grip is right... hm.

Being in Canada, I'm not even positive I could order it. BUT I do work in an animation studio, and could try and get it through that... you know. Film industry props.

Still, I have to look into the grips.

It'd be cool to see the chromed airsoft.... did YOU get it chromed? or is there a version that comes that way?

Rick doesn't need to...Cuz he's got skillz.

I think I'm going to try the Deniz route, sanding it down to bare metal and give it a polish... see if that works.

Was hoping someone had tried that.

This really would be easy if I just got a real one and had it decommissioned (if that's the term I'm looking for)... but seems a lot of money and hassle.

I've always noticed the odd way he has of "aiming" or lack there of
