Feel like I'm looking at two different things - this seems like they've used the plate from a seatbelt or something similar but rather than inserting it in to a clip or mechanism they've threaded the material on the corresponding end back through the plate.




Isn't the clasp holding the bag shut separate to the one pictured above?

I like the way you are thinking with that design. You are right about the 2 different things. I made the drawing of the main flap clasp next to the sling attachment and posted them together. Sorry for the confusion.

The closure reminds me of this but with buttons on the sides not on the front.

The MK VII bag is only 10.5 x 10.5 inches which seems too small to me. I think the one in the picture of Indie looks bigger because of the forced perspective in the photo. But could they possibly have used the top of the bag and added on to the bottom, and that's why the shape is so weird? Here are some action pics of it to compare.

Check out this picture of the bag. It looks like the clip that attaches the strap to the bag has some kind of bar sticking out on either side of the strap. And you can see the strap has that same rounded edge that her staff strap does.

I think you are right they are two different clips.

You mean different front and back? Maybe. It's so hard to tell. It looks different in every picture. In this one it looks like a stirrup.



But in this one it looks like it could be the same as the front.

The first one and second one look the same with different lighting it makes them look slightly different so I can see how it can be easily seen as a different clip. And the third is definitely clearer for not only the clip but the strap tightener(thank you btw)

The way I think of it is that the flap is on the top, but the straps are on the side. So it's like a messenger bag where they moved the flap to the side. Or a verticle bag where they moved the straps to the side. Or like someone said earlier, a backpack where they've taken one of the straps off. But, yeah, the opening is sideways.

Greetings All

I'm actually looking at doing the Belt/Holster and had a question, can you confirm or deny that the belt is in fact the same as the one she wears throughout the movie?

My theory is that the holster just loops over the lower belt, kind of like the Luke ESB holster. My concern is the closure on the belt, as I really have yet to see a good shot of it (I'm looking, lots of catching up to do), I'm worried that the weight of the holster will pull the belt off the person wearing it

The buckle attaching the strap to the pack looks like those used for the OT X-Wing pilots belt.

Yes.. it is the same belt.

The top and lower belts (a bit of a misnomer, since it's really one belt) both fasten with double square belt rings, and then the excess belt tongues pass through slits cut into the belt itself.

Owlfeathers, very freaking awesome build, great job. Lucky you have the hair for it too. I'm watching this thread as my wife is thinking making this also. She'll be amazed as well.

JJ...did that come from Joatrash? I should have my kit within a week or two... VERY excited.

There aren't very many good pics of the holster out there *yet*. As soon as we get some hi res screencaps it will be easier. there are a few spots when she's climbing the steps at the end that it can be seen rather well.
