Revell release schedule

If I'm reading this right, it looks like the nail in the coffin for Bandai Star Wars.

Why?

Maybe I am missing something, but..

Bandai can't sell to Europe, that is why they needed Revell in the first place. Same as how they needed BlueFin for the US

If anything Revell seems to expanding their Bandai releases

Just keeping those molds from getting rusty! :D

If Bandai's level of quality rubs off a little on Revell, that's good for us. The Revell Razor Crest is pretty darn close to Bandai-level detail. If their Mando N-1 is at least that good (and not a snap build toy) we're in for a sweeeeeet kit.

Were a global village. People can get kits from wherever, regardless of license limitations. Offering up all of these kits to Revell, along with Bandai's own process of apparently quiet-quitting it's SW stuff--but I guess I want to be wrong.

I agree that it's possible to get kits from wherever you want, but about what costs?! It costs a fortune to import the Bandai kits from Japan directly and it's a gift imo that Revell releases them over here in europe even if they double the price compared to asian prices. The same way I'm looking for a good opportunity to get the AMT Razor Crest without spending three times as much as for the Revell version since it's not sold in europe directly.
Would be great if Revell would over the AMT version too as a rebox, but this never gonna happen.

Whether we like it or not, regional licenses are still a thing.

Revell sees demand for the Bandai kits in Europe, so they made a deal. That is all it is. Supply and demand. Both companies win.

At this time, Bandai has decided not to create many new SW kits. It might change, as they obviously still have the license.

Personally I'm happy that some hard to find kits are being re-popped, including the PG 1/72 Falcon.

Not sure what "Skill level 3" translates to in terms of quality of detail, but I guess we'll see.

I don't get it what this is with Revell's scale calculations all the time in the sci-fi sector. They sell the Bandai Razor Crest as a 1/144 scale, which could dissatisfy a lot of customers, who expect a kit half the size of the Revell's new tool release of the Razor, which is still a decent size. And finally they get a kit barely a third of the size. Sure there's still the length mentioned at the package, but anyway... weird, just weird.

Huh?

The new tooled Razor Crest from Revell is scaled 1/72 and got a length of 337mm. The coming rebranded Bandai release is scaled 1/144, which is half the size you can expect. So about 170mm. But that kit is about 100mm. It could be 1/350 or something like that. However. WTF about that obviously wrong scale declarations. And this is not the first time that Revell's scales of their Star Wars releases a far away from any official dimensions of the the ships/vehicles.
