i checked at halfords today.

They have 40,45,50,55,60mm diameter wire reinforced ducting in silver.

would 45mm be too big?

Good, job on the hose! Actually (having the AT-ATRON in mind) the 45mm would be to small. However, the 55mm would be PERFECT!

Steve.

You wouldnt believe how often i read this thread.

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, 55 mm would be right for the ATARON and 50 mm would be for the SS AT-AT.... Right???!!!

Scale looks great for the ATAT Ron.. compare it to the kit neck and you will see the new material fills the space like the filming minature. Is there any way to give the purchace info on this stuff? Who what where when and how much? Im sure all the ATATRON guys will wan to jump on this.

Steve

Its from an automotive store here in the UK called "Halfords".

Its a flexible hose & comes in 40,45,50,55,60mm dia.
I used the 55mm dia hose for the pics.

In the 50mm & below sizes the wire reinforcing is slightly thinner.

Any automotive spare shop should have this stuff as standard, Halfords usually list the make & model of car but they havent on this part making me think its used on almost every type of vehicle.

The price was £3.60 if i remember right for a piece about 200mm long

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to studio scale building and have started a y-wing. Most of my time on RPF is on the y thread, here are some of my progress picks.

Your guys AWESOME work on the ATAT has inspired me and would really appreciate a PM on the "friend up north" cause this will definitely be my next project. I see from some of your comments that the molds might be fried, but its worth a try. Thanks in advance.

Well, after several more tries on finding the tubing, I finally found a Napa auto store that can get me some.

They ordered me 60MM (2" 3/8") aluminum hose, they could not get 55MM. We'll see how that looks, it should be here in the next couple days.

This has been a fun project and much needed change/break for me to do other then Fett...

***Build UPDATE*** I got a PVC tube fully installed to hold my SaturnV belly parts in place to keep them from falling in.

With my 60mm neck tubing arriving hopefully tomorrow, I made a neck support out of small PVC pipe to give the head some side to side movement.

Now to rebuild the neck opening and start to detail the SaturnV belly and surrounding area as well as finish the main body.

Well friends, as much as I love my ATATRON kit and want to build it, my financial situation demands that I part with some more things. Please contact me if interested.
