Well comparing the materials photographically, they look pretty much the same. Mine didn't have any odor and this Alabama heat has proven it doesnt stick to itself. (I took the photos below in the middle of the day...heat index 109! the Humidity is redonkulous)

I've been off the map this past week, and am just now seeing your pics.
Glad it arrived!!
Also glad it sounds like the material is better than mine.
I dig the cane idea. It goes really well with the costume.

Interesting to me how we look similar, yet different.
Kinda hard for me to tell in the pics, but I can't quite tell how much of the eye sockets are you vs the mask.

Can't wait to see some more pics!

You're welcome! The town I live in is simply dying. There isn't anyone who does this sort of thing that I can find. The town is really limiting my creativity it feels like.


I look back at the pics taken of me during that last event and keep saying WOW to myself. I gotta get this kid to bring his 18mp camera to more events with me, or at least borrow it...no way I can spend $1000 on a camera like that :lol

The Iron Man suit was from another member here and is also my suit.
I have passed it down to my 16yr old son. I'll prolly wear it for very limited occassions from now on.

these are the contacts I just ordered:

Freaky White Zombie Contact Lenses

When I first started wearing prescription contacts, I went through a couple brands before I found the ones that fits best...can't even tell I have em on my eyes. The first couple brands...I could tell there was something on my eye...felt it when I blinked..they moved around on my eye a bit, causing blurry vision.
I hope these zomibe eyes do me good.

Got my contact yesterday.
I put one in this morning after my shower; was gonna wear em to work to freak everyone out....
yea...they look amazing, but don't fit.
I only tried the right eye this morning and it gave me quite a fit.
It never really sucked down onto my eye right, and left a tiny airbubble right over my pupil. It floats around and blurs my vision, plus, I can feel it when I blink...actually, blinking is enough to move it around.
The prescription looks to be just fine; when the contact is in position long enough.
Hmmmm i dunno about these...
I can probably do okay doing a short troop, but that's about it.
I'll post some pics tonite if I get a chance.

Prescription, huh? Doesn't sound like the Doc got your diameter or curve right to me. Otherwise the lens would conture your eye properly, not distort and cause problems. I'd address that with your optometrist. A good fitting lens should not move around as you described it. Sorry for the rant, as I hate to see people get screwed over, especially when it comes to vision.

I did a test run with the contacts and quick make-up.
The contacts did fit a little better, but not perfect.
My prescription measurement has 14.5 as the diameter.
All I could find (I prolly didn't look hard enough) were white eyes in 14.0...so, either my eyes are different than the average joe...or I goofed.

If I kept my eyes relaxed, and blink while paying attention, they didn't float too bad.

They totally freaked my wife out...almost upset her.
I'm not sold on the eyes yet...whaddya think?

That looks great! I was so inspired by this thread that I actually aquired a mask from Mr. Bungle's orignal 10. The bad news is I contacted the maker of the suit and they are on vacation until Aug. 8, needless to say I won't get it in time for the opening of the movie. :cry

I never imagined my outfit would have come together as well as it did.
I can imagine Tom hanging with his buds, and saying something like, "Dang, checkout how this guy looks in my mask" :lol

ahh, I wondered what happened to Shannon's eBay sales...they're all gone. Vacation makes perfect sense.

I wonder how many of these coats she's been asked for as a result of my prodding....

And despite suits I have done before...Darth, Iron man, Micheal Myers, etc...despite the fact I have spent a FRACTION on Red Skull compared to all other suits...Red Skull seems to be the clear standout for me.

I can't wait to see this movie.

Those pics on p6 are awesome,you look so convincing! You really bring somthing to this costume when you wear it but I just can't place what it is. Over the top 40s comic style evil,I think? Whatever it is,amazing job! And I'm loving the contacts,shame they aren't more comfortable.
