Best chrome paint options in 2025?

I painted a whole endo head with Molotow. I bought one of the refills and still have plenty after also painting a argonauts vinyl t-800.

Helps with some pics The skull I am going to sand down and redo as I literally just sprayed it over Spaz chrome. If done well it looks chrome as chrome can be.

You only need to read House of Kolor to know it's gonna be pricey. Many years ago someone on here built a R2D2 and had a custom HoK blue mixed up and it was like $500 for a relatively small amount!
I probably paid around $150 for 1 liter (pretty close to a quart) of UC35, hardener and reducer. There are probably cheaper urethane clears, this was just easy for me to get here and I didn't shop around.

As far as I know, any urethane-based clear will do just as well.

Spaz Stix Ultimate Mirror Chrome sounds really promising, apparently it's pretty sturdy and doesn't need a clearcoat to protect from smudges and fingerprints (still recommended for durability against chipping if you're using it on something you'll be rougher with). I haven't gotten around to trying it yet though.

I did watch a video on that Spaz Stix paint and it looks like the first coat goes on with almost a gold color. Then you keep spraying it until you get the chrome look you want. I think I might get two or three and test them to see what I like best.

This Colt Lightning print was painted with Spaz Stix chrome, which is how I first found out about it, and it looks incredible to me:

Wish the model itself was more accurate though, still trying to get a print with the proper grip shape.

I'm also considering biting the bullet and just getting a bottle of Culture Hustle Liquid Mirror. As expensive as that is, it sounds like it's a lot less finnicky than chrome sprays and is probably the most durable option as well.

I am seeing AK Superchrome AK9198 but there is also AK477 Xtreme metal chrome
Superchrome is the one I've used. AK makes some very bold claims about the Xtreme... I'll buy a bottle and try it.

I'm always rather skeptical when there's a claim that their chromealike doesn't need a protective coat... but a lot of hobby paint manufacturers have gotten into doing this type of paint in the last couple of years, so maybe one will have a breakthrough. It would certainly be great.
