Predator 2 mask from HCG arrived!:-)

Yesterday,my Predator 2 bio from HCG arrived.I think HCG made a good job..it looks like the original stuntprop.(on the left HCG..on the right the screenused mask)





The stand is extreme heavy metal,like the sideshow wolfmasks stand.The light up funktion is the same like the sideshowmasks.The LEDs are very clear and bright.
I like the paintjob..under daylight the mask is brown/green..and under other light in the evening its only gold/brown.




A really sweet mask..love it.

Looks great but every replica i have seen made is always of the stunt mask and not the hero This one is the same thing.. Still looks great

I´ve heared the hero was stolen with a lot of other props from "Predator 2" Years ago.So they only have the stuntmasks.But I think its ok,because the movie is often so dark,that you can´t say,whats the hero and whats the stuntversion.:lol

@Jeyl:Yes,no paperlenses like the sideshowcrap...only the wolfmask from sideshow is awesome.And thats the only one from sideshow in my collection.

Ah,thanks for the translation..

The price is 299 Euros here in germany.The mask is limited on 1000pieces worldwide like the wolfmask from sideshow.

Well the hero had 5 holes under the chin, another detail was the laser housing was different.. The isde by side pic you posted shows that

Yes, the hero helmet was stolen.

The hero is quite a lot different from the stunt. Here are the differences i can think of by memory:
The whole helmet is wider around the dome, the nose bridge is higher/closer to the brow, the brow is more bulged outwards, cheeks are a little more bulged outwards, the nose does not have the "paw print" on the front and is flatter, it has a large under chin section with air holes, the rim runs all the way around the eyes and not just along the bottom and up the sides and the brow has some detail in the center.

I converted a stunt cast to a hero using heat on a pure polyurethane cast and a little filler.

Do you have good pics of the hero,were i can see all the differeces?If the complete dome was wider,the hero was another sculpt???

@bowelrock:The screenused mask on my pic is not the hero...its the stunthelmet,that HCG becomes from the filmstudio to cast the masks.also my mask is an exact copy of this old mask.The guy who posted the pics made the colourcode for hcg to match the paintjob.

All the photos i had are on a floppy disc somewhere and i nolonger have a floppy drive.

The 2 disc DVD of predator 2 is good for reference.

Ok.. have seen all low res pics and promoshots in the internet.With details youre right..the hero has some more details as the stunt(looked in the film today).But I think the sculpt is the same..the stunt is only a softer cast.
I wanna see high res pics of the mask from all sites.That would be great.Normally the studios are making good pics of the heroprops..nothing for the P2-Hero?The promoshots are very dark and with shadows on one side of the mask.:unsure
I don´t wanna build a hero in the next time..I like my stunt with the stand.But in the future I could build a hero like yours.Do you have pics of your Heromask?

Its in silicone at the moment. A friend is going to finish off the mold, as i don't have time, so you will see it soon!

Have you noticed how much wider the dome is on the hero? Also look at the nose bridge in that mask photo i posted the link to. Then there is the bulged out brow with the detail in the center and the rim which runs all the way around the eyes. The hero is more than just a sharper cast.

The pic is really small and low res.-so I cannot see all details of the nose.But with the bulged out brow with the detail in the center youre right(seen that in the movie).But this details can be lost with the soft cast.I think the dome is not a lot wider.....I think the "wider effect" comes with the more copper colour and the undermask under the mask.I don´t think,that they made a spezial sculpt only for the heromask..I think,that all masks are from the same..but they made a little "update"with the hero..in paint and some details.But we can only find out the truth,if somebody is finding the lost heroprop..and we see it next to the stuntmasks.But thats only a dream...:lol
