Frank the Rabbit from Donnie Darko – Mask History

James Duval published on his Instagram that the Jack Morrissey suit (which he wore on screen) has been donated to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

It would be great to have an original screen worn suit on display for everyone to see. Maybe it will spark some new stories about its history and that of other masks and suits. The chip on the eye seems to be even more visible than on previous pictures of this mask. You can see how excited James Duval is to be reunited with his 'shadow' as he calls it.

So any chance of lineage castings being available from the original mold?

The original mold reached the end of its usable life and was sold to a collector. Even if I had it, we wouldn't be able to successfully continue to create pulls from it.

As much as I would love a mask with lineage to the original, given the history of this mask and suspect “originals” being sold, that’s probably for the best.
