Full size nurnie from the MF. Also seen on the Death Star. It's printable in 2 pieces. I'm working from photos, so I'm sure I have a few things wrong. If anyone has the measurements of this and some photos from different angles, I would appreciate it.

I had the misfortune to work on episode 8 because Dr Strange had been put back 6 months.
I drew up several set peaces to use in kit bashing. like you I didn't have the real thing so it was just an aproximation.

Working on a Star Wars E-Wing design.

Blueprints, canon, and non-canon designs from the web can't agree on this craft. Some have droid sockets, and differ on cockpits, wings and hull shape. I took inspiration from all of them and created a design that I think works. The blueprints and pictures suggest that the E-wing had semi-foldable wings, possibly to accommodate a smaller set of landing gear when folded upwards, similar to a Klingon Bird of Prey. Documentation conflict on whether the struts hold the wing in place or not. To me, putting engines on the wings and lasers right next to them looks a bit messy, so I brought the engines onto the fuselage. On one of my wing designs I have folding wings which are more trapezoidal, similar to a Battlestar Galactica Viper, and the other has non-folding wings with more of a softer curved appearance.

The scale I'm designing it in is 1:24, but I'm thinking I should print it out in 1:16 and put in a 3.75 inch figure in it.

Documentation varies on the placement of the proton torpedo launchers. I put mine underneath the fuselage. I'm also thinking the the wing weapons could have a pylon where different weapons could be mounted depending on the mission...similar to present day 4th generation fighters.

I'm on the fence whether I will design a panel pattern for this (which may make it a bit chunkier looking when printed, or leave it smooth and scribe panel lines.

Wow Tazo_O I love that simple design esthetic (y)(y)

Thanks, The top poster graphic is probably the most canonical design. According to the books the E-wing was designed in the Thrawn era, so I was thinking that the design could be a bit less chunky and more stylish like a Ferrari Testarossa and be a replacement for the X-Wing. I have a couple of projects on the go now, but I do intend to print it in scale to 3.75 inch figures.

The TWA Moonliner was an iconic piece of history with Disneyland that was the centerpiece of Tomorrowland in 1955. A version still exists albeit much smaller at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port.

I designed a version that has the landing gear nacelles folded.

This design will be printable, but I'm not certain when I will get to it, as I have a few other projects on the go. It is nearly a meter tall or about 39 inches. The guardrail may be left off, as it is out of scale and would be a PIA to print. I may design the base with a circular LED array pointing up to give it some bling.

The red stripes will be painted on, but I have already made a couple of TWA decals.

I've always loved that ship :cool:(it's on my "To do list")...too bad I don't have a 3-D printing machine:(

A challenge from my Daughter.
Krang Key from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

It is three separate piece's. Top cap, bottom cap, and Body.

Love the design. I've never come across this before and looking great Taz!

Though, they really didn't think about the placement of that dorsal laser cannon over the canopy, did they. That thing better have a lavatory because that pilots not getting out of there in a hurry. Stay away from beer and vindaloo.

Now that the E-wing appeared in Ahsoka, that design is now canon. But I still have questions on that design.

I do like what the artist did with it the cannon over the cockpit, but I don't think it would be good engineering.

Been working on a Gambody Blockade Runner and it needed an interior. The front 'hammerhead' part is printed as a single hollow piece so it was near impossible to scratchbuild it and make it fit well. Instead I imported the head STL into Blender and cut it in half. From there I modeled the cockpit to fit pretty tightly against the front wall.

I printed out the body. I'm not too pleased with the quality, but I was using a 0.8mm nozzle without much tweaking of the settings, so I did expect some artifacts. The imperfections won't be seen after a couple of coats of photo resin anyway.

I'm debating whether to print the asteroid/moon display base with the rocket in flight or the more iconic pose of the landing legs deployed. The moon base will certainly take up less room and be simpler to paint.
