Post pics of your own 3D creations (not purchased)

Thanks to Joberg's ref pics I've gone back to the drawing board and remodeled the little VK case to be closer to the actual.
Close enough for jazz as they say.
Now for a quick paintjob

This is a .50 cal Barret M107A1. While a popular rifle, it is not seen much in movies, with the exception of Hancock.
I still have a ways to go on working on details such as the trigger mechanism, rear sight and a some other details. I'm trying to make it be field strippable with designing each component mechanically interacts with other parts.

Some more detail work on the M107. It takes a bit to subdivide things for printing, as well as accurately positioning screw holes and locator pins to ensure everything goes together correctly. The real weapon can be ordered with either a 29" or 20" barrel. After this, I will have to segment and add locator holes to all of the parts of the upper and lower receiver.

As suspected, the lamp is top heavy. The real Sorella had a metal weight in it to stabilize it. I did modify the design to allow weights to be put in to the base, but I'm going to turn this into an actual desk lamp, so I designed an appropriate base for it.

This is what I have now. Amazingly (surprisingly, shockingly), the wife thinks it's a pretty groovy design and would like it to be actually used in the house as a desk lamp.

Great results Taz...and the bonus is that your wife likes it also :p ;) I used to make lamps (my own designs) and yes, heavy bases are a must, sometimes, to make sure nothing tips over;) Eager to see it all finished.

The base's 24 hour print should be finished by Saturday morning, the shade part of the lamp took over 48 hours, the body, another 13. Then comes the post processing.

What's wrong with Coors? Next to Lethbridge Pilsner, Coors Banquet goes best with Clamato. What's your favourite beer?

I was just teasing.

I don't drink. The only booze I have ever really had, was few sips of a Coors, stolen from my buddies dad.

It was what I had on hand for a size reference that everyone could recognize. I wasn't advertising.
Mind you nobody complained or teased when I used a Coke can in other pics that needed a size reference.
