Picard S2

I think the writers are just relishing in their crapulence now…it’s so bad it’s just hilarious; to the point where I can see the Picard box set showing up as a selection on Best of the Worst, right next to Suburban Sasquatch…

Currently watching the latest episode and immediately many questions come to my mind. For instance, are the mercs all Borg now? And if so, how come they don't move like the Borg? Or even look like the Borg? Have the writers even seen how the Borg is portrayed in classic Trek?

And why would a hologram need to run from gunfire? IT'S A FREAKING HOLOGRAM.

I wouldn't even bother asking yourself these questions, the writers didn't.
Stop being a toxic fan, enjoy the member berries and lap up the "content" and keep that subscription paid.
THINKING IS FUTILE.

Is Jurati still munching Duracell to make more Nanoprobes?

I used to imagine her as an older woman, offering me a cup of tea and wanting to have a chat. So that’s how they retcon the classic stories into our new understanding of Picard’s life. I guess he used to imagine having an older brother as well.

maybe the Renee we were thinking about was his ancestress all the time, and in his sadness he believed it to be his brother.

I’m guessing that they will wrap up all of the other character story arcs so that the next generation crew can be front and center next year. The only one I care about at this point is Rios, and I hope he does stay with his new girlfriend

I'm sure it will all become clear in the last few seconds of the finalie...
Or not

As long as they return Elnor to the land of the living…in the end, that’s all I really care about.

His character made such an impact on the Trek universe; I will never look at a decapitation the same way again.

Choose to live Elnor...choose to live…

GOOOOOD GRAVY. I give up. I don't even have the strength to itemize the many ways that this episode sucked. But I will say the one thing that GENUINELY upset me, and that's when they ret-conned Picards mum out of TNG. Thats a deep cut, and if you ask me is the result of the writers realizing in episode nine that she made an appearance in TNG and they needed to "manage" that. Truly disgraceful. May as well just say Picards entire time on the Enterprise was just a dream.

I really liked what I saw. I have often remarked that Starfleet had long taken the wrong tactic with the Borg.

It was obvious to me, from the moment that I first saw “Q Who”, that the Borg were simply a traumatized group that were driven to forcibly assimilate and essentially mutilate and subjugate other species by their need to feel a sense of belonging and community.

What they needed was for someone to spend maybe 4-5 minutes “talking it out” with them to change their ways and become a more benevolent group.

It made me smile and warmed my heart when Agnes was able to “talk it out” with the Borg Queen and in the span of about 3-5 minutes, changed the entire mission of the Borg.

If there is one thing I have learned from this season of Picard, it is that there is no trauma that cannot be immediately overcome by a 3-5 minute pep-talk. From the “bumper sticker wisdom” shared by Synth Picard with Renae, to the spoonful of “Chicken Soup for the Soul” Agnes gave to the Borg Queen.

Yes, I think there is hope that life changing wisdom may be found by reading the bumper stickers all around us.

Thanks, Alley, I've been looking at this wrong the whole time. You've just helped me purge and cleanse my soul!
