Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I also just changed out my LED boards this week. Thank you @jjdelp for the boards and also a thank you to @AdamCFC for giving me some advice. LOVE the look of these things. Not sure if I should fog them up a little or leave them clear.

Well, I guess that theory that the special insoles I put in my V3's prevented the EL from breaking didn't work. Perhaps it extended the life of the EL but I still got the common 'front one not lighting up' on one shoe that most other people got while I was out at a local shopping centre. I expected it would happen eventually anyway. At least mine lasted a few months, though I suppose I didn't wear them all THAT much. Good excuse to wear them all the time without lights now and see how long they last as everyday shoes.
Had another 2 people think they were the real ones today, so that speaks to both the quality of the product from davidjones888 and the ignorance of the general public, I suppose. :D

Well at least you has a good run from them. I think it comes down to how much you weigh. There is not much flex in these shoes and that combined with a persons body weight (at 100KG or 220LB, yes I am over weight) I can't see these lasting very long. The video of David jumping in a pair that was posted a few months back might be fine if you weigh less than say 70KG ( approx 150LB). Think about the wires, the connectors and the battery all living under the sock liner just in front of the heel. When that is compressed, something has to give as there is nowhere for it to go. I also would imagine that the wires will be tight on some pairs and break, not unlike the V2 issues.

If someone is willing to let me test the resistance of the shoe untill they break, i'm about 70kilos :D

Wonder if a thin layer of something like JB Weld across the back of the el would help stiffen up the panel.

Someone else on here and myself both had the idea to put a stiff shape the same as the EL behind it so it can't bend. I mentioned carbon fibre and he put up a picture of a carbon fibre shape, roughly about the same time :) Maybe if I get around to replacing the sole on a pair I'll do that while the sole's off. Still haven't got round to getting my third pair which would be the backup I'd try that on.

you also should dig around the shape of the EL into the soles (adding about 1mm around the existing edges) so the EL panel could move a bit inside, and the wires should be loose too but attached inside at one spot.

Ok these are stiff. With the inner soles in, they are snug. However that slimmed toe was a tad uncomfortable. A sock toe on these shoes would be perfect or maybe going up a size.

Speaking of sizing, my replacement pair had 9.5 written in pen on the two card board inserts. Yet the tag on the inside says US10 and they are exactly the same size as the pair I am wearing. So what is the story with half sizes? Do they actually exist?

Yep, my 9.5's are definitely smaller than my 10's. Try taking out the grey insole that came with them, and only using the one you added in. You'll find they're more comfortable that way. The uppers stay stiff for quite a while, mine are only just softening up now.
Cats seem to like the V3's for some reason, mine do too....

So is the 9.5 actually a 9? I honesty think these run true to size from 7 to 12. That the half numbers are rounded up or down.
I left the original soles in because I wanted to add a bit more padding between me and the electrics.

I might just end up taking in soles I added out. Will see.

Anyway Merry Christmas and be safe.

Merry Christmas back to you and everyone else here.
For the size 10's, I first put the Ultra Sport insoles over the top of the grey ones but they were a bit tight then, so I removed the grey insole that came with them and only used the Ultra Sport insoles. That worked quite well. When I tried that with the 9.5's, I felt that my foot was stretching the elastic straps too much, so I went back to the originals for those (though I haven't worn those outside the house yet, only the 10's)
Should measure the 9.5's against some other NIKE 9.5's I've got here (Roshes, Ait Max 90's etc) to see if anything's the same.

I'd like to see your 9.5 shoes, sole to sole with a US9 pair. That way we are keeping "apples" with "apples".

Hello everyone. Merry Christmas. As my Christmas present to you I have figured out how to fix the broken el panels. See my jjdelp Instagram to see one that was broke back in action. Send me all broken panels and I will fix. I am built to last.
