Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

And in many cases, it is not the EL. When I autopsied my pair (modded V2s), I found it was a wire that was rubbing between layers of cloth. The friction caused the insulation to wear away exposing the copper which shorted out. This is all due to the fact the feet move heaps inside the shoe when walking.
As much as I love the idea of light up shoes, it is really not a practical thing.
Well on the V3 for the EL panel sole it is the wire between the two panel that can't take the fact you walk with, as soon as you'll bend it, as soon it will break after 1 or 2 days.
The LED panels on my daily pair are starting to die too but it's clearly the wiring that is the cause about it.

Rather than have a single wire run for the last pair, I ran separate wires to both EL "domes" because I didn't consider a single sheet viable in a wear pair. It didn't matter as the wire insulation still wore through.

I looked through a bit of the thread and didn't see one, but do we have a diagram of what the V3's eletronics setup looks like? I want to try and open up my shoe and fix whatever wire is going bad but I don't want to start cutting before I know where everything is

It is, you just need a nice amount of hot glue and good quality wiring ;)

It will take a lot of time, a very sharp xacto knife, if you've never done it before, then just don't, try yourself on a V2 pair or HC pair so you won't ruin it, look at all @Jefifyfe post and WizardBTTF they are the only one to me able to guide you and tell you what to do, plus you'll can find some details in their posts, but you'll have to dig the topic, good luck.

I have a pair that I will have custom painted. I'm waiting for my buddy to have free time.

I'd love a pair in the blue that @WizardBTTF uses as his avatar. But I don't know any custom painters and I'm not willing to send them to the US and back just for that. :)
Good luck with your customs.

I'm goanna have to find me some of that hydrogen peroxide and try it on my HC's or V2s....

airmagman or streetveterancustoms has the kit I think. Its a custom PCB they made which all connects fairly easily.

If one day i manage to find a way to tint durably my V3s, i'll make a black/white version, The only trustable product for now that i know is walk on black from Angelus.

She sent these 3 last night. I asked for the regular 10 pics now to see the rest of the shoe. If there are no issues with bunched up fabric I think I'll take them.

It's called Salon Care 40. It's used to strip hair color before coloring it

You can buy it at most hair or beauty salon places

Never tried it on the V2's

No, I applied it to the exterior only. Leave it out in the sun with a towel cover the rest of the shoe. Leave it for 30-45 minutes in direct sunlight, wipe off the rest when done and repeat with new coats of the Salon Care 40 every time. I saw most of the improvement after the second time. I just did a third treatment.

any difference after the 3rd application?

So are yellow soles a foregone conclusion for buying a pair of V3s at this point? Really want to pull the trigger and would love to get a pair like some of the previous pics that people got but haven't seen any recent pics that are too encouraging.

Not sure if anyone will be interested, but In a week or so I am going to post one of modded pairs in the junkyard. With the icy blue sole swap and the ankle bubbles done clear. If you like the way the 2011 look, these might be the pair for you. Figure I'll try here before eBay lol.

So I'm looking at my new pics and I'm noticing the swoosh on the left shoe. Did they forget the recessed area for the swoosh? I can see the lines of the ribs through it and it's raised. Also there is something going on with the fabric under the heel cup.

You gotta know you are buying reps so there will be some minor flaws because of the factory where they are made. So every pair you QC will have some things wrong.
I thought when i ordered my pair was ok en when they shipped i saw some flaws i didnt see before. Bit when i got them in my hands. I realized i was just nitpicking the whole time
in hand the shoes look awsome, remember that its not a real nike shoe so every pair got his flaws

Was just noticing that the 2016 PL version doesn't look like it has the recessed swoosh either.

Maybe they decided to stop doing it because so many people complained about their inability to align the swoosh in the recessed area?

So your and everyone else's shoes don't have a recessed area for the swoosh? And as far as the nitpicking, I've already said that I know they aren't going to be perfect and I accept that but I'm not going to take any pair they show me if I'm not happy with them. Especially when it comes to bunched up fabric. I'm paying for it and I'm waitng for a pair that I am happy with.
