Thank you for doing this. Yeah some small differences but hey, I'm sold now.

As for the "dull EL", I wonder if it due to the materials the soles are made from? The Straps appear to be the same brightness.

cavx Yes the straps are about the same. The sole EL is duller than the RD, but it's not so dull that it bothers me, pretty minor if you ask me, As long as they keep working, I'm happy.

Ok, these things are nice!! I've had a smooth transaction and I received them promptly. The shoes themselves, they are not perfect, but they are pretty close, they're awesome!! If you are on the fence about these, but always wanted to own them, then 'just do it'. When they are sitting next to the RD, you can see the differences, but when I opened the box for the first time, I was thinking these are unbelievable for a replica. These are very, very good, I am happy with them. I didn't get chance to walk around in them, it was getting late by the time I got my hands on them and unpacked them, but i took a few (badly lit) shots on my phone. My RD mags are US11, the reps are US12 (RD's are a size small for me but it doesn't bother me as I'd never wear them - reps on left, RD on the right). I put the reps alongside one of my Nike shoes i wear for size comparison, as you can see, the sole looks roughly the same size. The heel cup makes them look big, but these are a big, bulky shoe. I think I'm going to feel like I'm wearing moon boots when I've got them on. I prefer the smaller size as the proportions look nicer, but I wanted a pair I could wear on the odd occasion. You can see glue in some places and there are a few very faint dirt marks, but nothing you would really notice unless you've got them up to your face. The material is a little off but again, doesn’t matter unless you are comparing to the RD. The build quality feels very good, although I can't really comment on how well they will hold up as I haven't worn them, but Jedifyfe's comments show his are holding up well so far. The box is not bad, and I received the poster and the licence plate, nice attention to details.

Thank you for the comparison, they did a excellent job on these. All of the differences are minor. I ordered my pair when I got up this morning. I applaud this company for making a Nike Mag that is acquirable enough to own. It seems when the room is dark, the EL in the soles seem much brighter and the comparison to the RD pair gets a lot closer. I honestly feel this shoe is so close to me, i could buy another and call it a day on this shoe.

My theory on this is that if the rubber (which appears to be cloudy) on these 2016 MAGs was water clear, the EL would be brighter. The blue tinted rubber on the 2011 MAG is very clear and as a result, the EL is bright.

OK to use your images on FB?

then the solution would be to swap out the rubber on the sole or tint it blue. it looks like a cloudier rubber used than on the RD mags

Yea, you'd have to cast new rubber parts to get rid of the diffused/cloudy look. Smooth-on makes that clear flex rubber which is crystal clear... and it is suppose to never yellow. I picked at the edge of the clear soles on these a little bit...it seems they are really well glued down.

Tinting it blue won't actually help. Think of the clouded rubber like a scratched piece of plastic with a light behind it Vs a perfectly clear piece of plastic with a black light. The cloud is like many scratches diffusing the light rather than allowing it to pass.

The stuff I used on my clears is water clear and with the recent parts, I added a small amount of translucent blue pigment to the Part B. When mixed with Part A, you could hardly tell the parts were tinted at all, but the clarity was amazing.

Molding these would be a challenge and you would need skill and equipment like a degassing chamber and probably even a pressure pot to ensure perfect bubble free casts. Been there, done that for the V2s.

So are you saying that you might do them eventually if the demand is high enough?

Of course, if there is demand. We don't know if these new V3 soles will turn yellow as fast as the V2 or if they have actually used a UV stable rubber this time.

Does anyone have a comparison pic of the V2s next to the V3s and RDs

I'm sure @Jedifyfe can assist there.

In the meantime, given how close the V3 is to the 2011 MAG, here is V3, V2 and HC all lined up.

If I didn't know that the shoe on the left was the V3, I'd just assume it was the 2011 shoe.

I do a lot of resin casting, I have a 5 gallon pressure pot and a vacuum chamber for degassing. With rubber you will need to do both or you'll get bubbles and pinholes. If you have some soles already off a shoe...If you send them to me/sell them to me I can mold them.

Looks like one of the evolution pictures. And I guess in a way, it is.

Kind of reminds me of when I got my first 1080P projector and first BD player. Switching between DVD and BD copies of the same films and being asked " did DVD always look that bad?". The answer being, well yes, once you have something better to compare it to. For the last 3 years, we have told ourselves that V2s look awesome and here they are next to the V3 and suddenly looking sadly like a moon boot again.

Hye guys,

So Fabri s helping me acquiring a pair, Rebecca sent him pictures of the pair, but I am a bit skeptical concerning the left shoe, looks that there are some wrinkles and a dot, also the laces on the right shoe don't look to be symmetrical, thought I would ask you if these are too common to have the pair replaced? Or if we should ask for another pair maybe? What do you think? Here are the pictures:

Just signed up to the forum today after following this thread for a couple months. I put my order in last thursday, got QC pics this morning. After reviewing them, I noticed the right shoe collars are a little puffier. Lace bands don't look even. Everything else looks good but not sure if I should be so picky for the price.

I'd like to know your guys thoughts..

Thanks!
