Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

You could get the white dye, I'm not sure what it would do though. It might come out like chalky white.

Only way that maybe it would go clearer is with just the sole bright and put in the sun like the directions for de-yellowing clear soles. I think these soles won't really get too clear though.

I went blue as a lot of the pics of the Rd mag seem to have a slight blue tint even if it's not there, my eyes see it lol. And I figured there is less possibility to make that sole clear than to dye it a color.

Vormz, I think it was agreed that the rubber behind the sole has to be painted white.

Yes, you're right.
But when I figured this out, my sole was already glued and now I'm afraid to unglue and torn or broke the el panel...
And if I had the courage to do this, I would definitly purchase you some clear soles ;)!
So, I'm looking for an alternative.

By the way, I bought the Angelus matte finish and I'm kind of disappointed.

The sole isn't matte anymore but glossy... anybody has the same issue?

This is the setup I used:

Directions say 1 part sole bright, 1 part dye. I didn't want to get it dark blue so I did like half the dye.

Directions say 30-60 min on the sole, I put it on and seen how deep and thick it was on there and maybe waited 5-10 minutes and started spraying and brushing it off.

Cleaned it real good until nothing was coming off with soap and water, and wiped down with alcohol.

Finished product:

I am extremely happy with the outcome. The sole color was my main issue with these, the opaque gum like color was so offsetting.

Next mod is the straps!

Does the sole bright really efficient? Or you would say that only light blue dye is necessary?

Are you referring to the mid-sole or the outer sole? The mid-sole looks shiny.

Why is there a colour change on the EL?

If the outer sole was not "yellow" these would look really cool.

I'm refering to the mid-sole, I wanted it to be matte...
What colour change on the EL?

You will need both, the dye is like water, where the sole bright is almost lotion like. The chemicals in it are what allow the dye to really penetrate.

On my HC pair I used rit dye with vinegar to change the sole color and it did but it's more just a layer over it. I did like 9 coats and it would basically just wash off when I washed the excess off.

With the sole bright mix as soon as I put it on I could tell that wouldn't be the case, i rinsed and scrubbed the shoe with soap and water probably 6 full cycles and rubbed down with alcohol and its dyed, nothing is coming off.

Do you have a before/after photo of the outer soles after using the sole bright mix?
Sorry if I ask too much ;)

The only before after type pic I have is:

Angelus sole dye "kit" is basically the mix you make. I did not sole bright the shoe first which would maybe be a good idea, I just did there mixture of the dye in the sole bright and applied.

maybe to get it a lighter blue/clear do something like:

sole bright the shoe per directions in the sunlight for a few hours, rinse and clean. There should be some kind of lightening of the sole.

then do the mix of sole bright and dye but maybe do like 1 part sole bright, 1/4 dye. Directions say 1 to 1 and I did half, so maybe less and you can get it slightly more clear.

Here's another finished shot:

Sorry for hosting where, but Im am working on converting my Mags to EL sole and colored LEDs. Doing 3.7v setup. But which is better CR123a battery (1500 mha) or ps3 battery ( 1800 mha) not sure which to use....the CR 123a is changeable, ps3 battery will have to have a charge function. So what to do?? Please share some advise.
Thanks.

It seems the ps3 battery is a bit dull, and the cr123a is a bit brighter??? Of course ps3 battery is out of the box, not charged fully! ;-)
