Yes and no. The bottom of the shoe is (below the strap) pretty much identical to the V2s apart from the SWOOSH and NIKE MAG lettering, so if your worried about stuffing the toe slim and lace thinning, these V3s might be a good tester for you to work on first.

Above the strap, these are slightly different because the cuff looks puffier and the hole is round. Looking at this round hole and it might have enough fabric around it to allow an unpick, nip out three corners, tuck and glue to make these triangular. That would be a mod you can't do on a V2!

You can always add a SWOOSH later on as well.

You will probably have to make new straps from scratch. It is a real shame they stitched that.

There is nothing you can do about the cuff. It is what it is. You may even be able to unpick the extra stitching they have added around the laces. I don't see a reason for it to be there and AFAIK, no V2 ever split down the seam where this stitching is.

As for the heel cup, my plan is to make a new heel cup (for my V2s) using the existing part as a base, mold and cast that. I intend to make the back larger and extend the inner wing a tough and will therefore add a larger M A G to the back. Texturing the surface will be a challenge but at less than $100, I'd be OK to simply chop a pair of these up for parts.

Thing is, given how much my clear soles cost to make (molds alone were over $700), this won't be happening anytime soon.

Thanks for the feedback cavx, like you say, these could be a good place to start experimenting, just hope I can grab a pair at a good price.

Is there a way for me to email Karen. I want to know if she has a black pair and if I wear a 9, should I get 8.5 or 9.5.

There is no US9, so you have to order 8.5 or 9.5. With these new shoes, there is a US9 but no half sizes.

Thank you so again. Just one more question. I don't want them to look huge on me. I hear they run big so I'm leaning towards the 8.5.

Are you going to slim the toe? You lose space in the toe box when you cut it down, so just be aware of that or you might end up a look of your toes bulging out the front and it might not be the most comfortable. You can always add a sock liner if they are too roomy, but if too small, you will have a hart time wearing them for any extended time.

Thanks cavx. I'm not going to slim the toe, I actually like the box toe in the black. If they run t true to size I may need the 9.5 but if they run big, from what I've read they are a half size big then I'm going to with the 8.5. I do want to do the El mod on the sole and the strap. I I'm waiting for a response for Karin now. I also came across a site called fashion replicas black mags for 82 dollars. I just don't think they will be good.

Did you mean these kind of ones?

They're not even as movie accurate as the V2's but they're actually pretty comfy - the midsole is a nice soft foam. Good as just shoes, since Nike don't make high hightops anymore lol, if you're not going to a convention or anything with them and don't want to spend as much as the V2's are they might be a good starting point, they're the first MAG replicas I got as they were the first mass produced ones by a factory as far as I know - they were based off Mark Poon's shoe I beleive. I still get interested comments from people when I wear them on the train and stuff. "Dude, I've never seen Nikes like that!"
But the uppers quality is less than the V2's, they don't light up and the rubber is softer, so wears away faster.
Same as anything really, you get what you pay for.

wow they are the black V2s. I'd pay $88 for a pair of those! As long as it's not a site that just takes your money and sends nothing.....

I'd replace that gold swoosh with a white one and paint over the rest of the gold with a black though. Good old black and white.

But I've never heard of that site before... I had to look around on the site before I found how to buy....
this page shows the details for anyone thinking about being brave enough to try it:

I know man and they are going for 88.00 usd. I just don't trust that because of the price. I did email them and a rep told me that they are the exact replica of the mag

I've bought reps from sites that only take western union, and always got the shoes. Sometimes the quality is better with some than other, but that's the way of reps. Maybe I got lucky and picked good ones. I usually make a small order of one pair of cheap something first just in case it's a loss, it's a minimal loss. But everyone (even the ones that have to keep changing their site name) always send the shoes. One example is http://www.cnshopon.com/productlist.asp?sort_id=168&nsort_id=1934 though they don't have Mags. Like I said, I havent got anything from that china fashion site, so I can't comment about them. Just letting you know some of the sites are legit.

I had to pay WU for my V1 and they arrived no problems.

I think the issue here is that for the last 2 years, people have paid $250usd for them. Why would a seller suddenly be happy with $88 (as in reference to 88 miles an hour) for the same product?
They wouldn't. So either they send you V1 or send you nothing. The problem with WU us there is no claim for items not sent.
