New Zvezda Star Destroyer Model kit

Nope, I got mine from the Crabby guy everyone was dumping on for his high Buy it Now/Make an Offer prices......

You probably wont see them in regualr online shops as it's sale is still restricted to Russia, Just like Bandai is restricted (was actually) to Japan. You're probably still going to be ordering from somewhere in Russia.

Doubtful, as far as any of us have been able to determine, Zvezda doesn't have rights to sell in the States.

However: Anything is possible... if it happens.

I'm confused by both comments. I never had trouble getting Bandai or Fine Molds SW stuff through amazon. Bandai certainly seems to have gotten more pressure to limit it's availability, but still all over amazon and ebilbay--and at decent prices. With amazon, it's usually right about retail and with free shipping using Prime. Takes a week or two to get here is all.

If this were a resin garage kit, I might have jumped in and bought one already from whomever, but as it's styrene and licensed, I'll wait to see where these things start showing up. If this Zveda kit is just as "unavailable" as the Bandai stuff, I like those odds.

For me, I looked at the sticker price ($80usd) and figured - yep, compared to the stupid ass prices for ANY model kits locally, that's good, and compared to shipping domestically on say the revell ISD ($20-30!) and compared it to this one else ($40) and thought "yep, that's in line". I've got time to wait, so, all good.

Bandai, up until now, does not distribut kits to US sellers. Places can buy them from a dealer in Japan and resell them. That's why you see them on eBay and Amazon. You won't see Hobby Town, or Hobby Lobby selling Bandai SW kits. Same with the Zvezda SD. Zvezda does not have a license to sell the SD directly to American distributors.
Of course we all know that with the upcoming release of the R1 two pack of X-Wings, the ban has finally been lifted on vehicles only.

I get all that. I'm just saying when I can go on amazon all day long and buy Bandai stuff at just about retail or even under with free shipping, why do I care exactly how it's happening? (Unless someone can show that it somehow involves human trafficking or funding terrorism.) If Zveda winds up being the same, I could care less what the language of the license says. There is a lot of selective amnesia on this point in what people are posting. People are making statements like I won't be able to get this because of license language--just like we can't get Bandai stuff--and I'm just trying to point out that, at least in the U.S. there is very little problemo getting this stuff and at good prices. It will be hard or impossible to walk into a LHS in the U.S. and buy it, yes, and it will be the same buying it from a domestic online shop, yes. Hard to get? Nope.

Did you guys with shipping notices buy through that Bentley guy who had the first 4 available? 'Cause..... :(

I bought from the same fella as you I believe. If you payed via PayPal I wouldn't worry. I bought mine from him outside of the 'bay because I kept getting the error at checkout, but he did contact me after I paid to say payment was received and it would go out as soon as possible. That gave me some confidence as he could have said nothing. Fingers crossed as I imagine I wont hear anything and it will just show up in the next 2 months or so.

We were responding to this:

I dunno. If an online hobby retailer gets it soon, I bet I can have them ship it to me before late Jan.

Highly doubtful this will happen.

I got one through the no box guy, which has already been shipped. I think the other bloke is just waiting for his stock to arrive. But seeing as he is posting those out via EMS, chances are you will get them before us guys.

I dont think anyone has said you can't get this kit. Or that it would even be hard to get. If you don't care about how people are actually getting Bandai SW and this kit well.....OK, you don't care. I guess I don't get the point of your post. Everyone already knows how to get Bandai SW kits and how to get this SD. Some will find a way to get it cheaper than others. The more that get out there the more price will come down to a point. The more will be available.

Just me, but I won't buy an unboxed kit.

Heck I can't even get the groceries from my shopping cart to home without loosing something!

I kinda agree. It's a little like buying steaks out of a guy's van. Of course, assuming I can't get steak anywhere else, I might take a shot...

Your post cracked me up but it's very true!
I ordered the kit a couple of weeks ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it ships soon. I'm assuming the kit has been officially released in Russia?

I guess if there was any doubt about whether the kit had been released, this picture should take care of it:

Wow, they did get expensive.

I got got one for $110 shipped before they went up in price.

At this point, you are paying to be on the 'bleeding edge'. Things will probably steady out, but right now, they are seeing what the market will bear.
