Hi all,
My name is Cory and I love movies. My main prop loves are Ghostbusters and mcguffins from treasure hunting stories. My favorite style is Art Deco and streamline modernism. I also have a knack for wanting to cosplay as characters most people wouldn't think to cosplay as/ don't remember existing. I've been a longtime stalker of this site and finally decided to join. Hope you all have a really nice day!

Hi all, I'm a mechanical engineering student and former cosplayer from America looking to get back into the hobby, with more of a focus on creating more refined props/armor now that I have a better skillset and access to tools (I, uh, borrowed some tools from my lab before we got shut down due to the pandemic).

I was big into cosplay from video games (Final Fantasy/Fire Emblem primarily), and I'm looking to get back into it with a new armor build, now that I have quite a bit of free time. We'll see how far I manage to get before real life starts hitting me again, but I'm excited to get creative again! I'm a big Star Wars fan too, and now that I have time I can finally build that lightsaber I've been planning to for years.

Hi I'm Nathan! I have been making props for a while but mostly on my own. i would love some help on My new Tron Disc Build!

Hi I'm Danny,

I've been building props and making things as long as I can remember. Recently I've started as Youtube Channel (Grass Roots Maker) to actually have somewhere to put my work. I've also been an RPF lurker for many years but created a new account to try and keep all my content and posts together.

My first prop project on the channel was a full size Warhammer 40K Plasma Pistol for an Imperial Guard Commissar Cosplay I'm working on:

Please check out my channel (like and subscribe and all that kind of YouTuber stuff that I don't really understand but seems to be important :) )

It wont be all about cosplay and props but probably a decent amount.

Hi everyone!

I've used the forums on and off for years just browsing for techniques/display ideas. I guess i'd say i'm more of a collector but in the last year or two have started making some more involved projects and expanding a very modest SW collection. Main interest is screen accurate SW props mainly from the original trilogy, but since The Mandalorian came out there's definitely a couple of pieces on my list to add to the collection!

Recent-ish builds have included:

- Roman's Obi Wan lightsaber install with soundboard, printed chassis, etc.
- Various wooden lightsaber display stands
- Small dioramas for action figures
- Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter) inspired helmet and gloves (with v.budget light show!)

Currently working on:
- KR/OR Thermal detonator install with a pretty unique stand (i think!) which i'll def post about when i've sourced materials.
- Cloth wrap for a Beskar ingot i've ordered (as seen in The Mandalorian when the Client reveals to Din Djarin in Ep1)

Looking forward to getting more involved in the forums and up for collaborating. For my day job i've done a lot of graphic design work so hit me up if you need any graphics recreating for decals, etc!

Hello! I'm Susanna, or Lily works too.
I've been a hobby crafter pretty much my whole life, but just recently started to dive into the prop making world. I grew up around live theatre as well as the TV/Film industry in LA and have always had a large interest in how things were made and everything behind the scenes. As a former (but hoping to go back) Cast Member at Walt Disney World, my interests largely revolve around disney related props featured in the rides/attractions, and movies, but I also have a huge passion for live theatre, and cosplays.

I'm a bit all over the place in terms of skill. I've dabbled in sewing, book binding, and sculpting so far. I would definitely say I'm still a beginner, so I'm looking forward to learning from this community of much more experienced makers. My current project I'm working on is making a replica of the Sleeping Beauty story book from the original movie. We'll see how that goes!

Good day guys,
I am a 40+ man living on the south coast of England.
My favourite films are the James Bond franchise.
I love trying to make or collecting replica props from the films.
I have already seen quite a few great things on this site, but there seems to be quite a few attachments I can not open.
Is this because a person has blocked the link or is there another issue.
Thank you for any help on this matter in advance.

First off, Welcome to the RPF!

Second,
there are any number of reasons why that might happen, such as it was really old and it just stopped working over time. Could be that if it's from another site, the site is now defunct, or it just won't accept it anymore. Or it could be as you said, someone may have blocked the link. Or it's just not recognized now due the many updates that have happened on the RPF through the years.

it could be any one of these things or perhaps something else, you just never know.

Hello everyone!
I'm Dan, 55 yr old male from Florida.
Always been a Trekkie/Trekker but just now starting my prop collecting/building. Very excited to begin after so many decades of watching the franchise. I've got a resin TOS P1 coming in the mail and have no clue where to start, so any info from you fine people would be much appreciated.
Thanks for having me and thanks in advance for your helpful info!

Hi to all,

I'm Ralf from Germany and I build models and props for about 25 years. I'm mainly interested in Star Wars and I'm a great fan of the german 60s TV Show "Raumpatrouille Orion" (Space Patrol Orion), which may not be very common outside of Germany ;-). But also spread a lot around the Sci Fi genre. It took a long time, but I found my way here to the RPF.

I really love working with metal, I did a bunch of blasters, completely buildt in metal. But I also used to stryrene, resin, wood, etc.

Here are some pictures of things I've done.

Hello!

Thank you for letting me join this amazing community, I'm looking forward to sharing so the projects I am working on and plan to work on in the future. I am also here to view and use some of the amazing work on this forum as a reference point for my work.

Hi,

I am Marc and I live in Germany. After starting to make the medallion from Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, I started a new blog dealing with geeky things. While looking for other people sharing this passion I ended up here. I am so excited to find such a place that is not half-way dead like many other forums :-/ To not open an additional threat with the same topic I added my project in the thread about this medallion.

Hi folks. I'm Richard. New to this prop thing coming from a scale model background. Here's a few of my builds I've been working on as I've scaled up.

Most are printer on an Ender 3 with some custom electronics. All painted in acrylics. I didn't design the original models - I've pulled them all from thingverse - thanks to those creators for their generosity :)

As you can see, I'm a bit of Fallout fan. First up a AEP7 Laser pistol. It has a working laser with LED's to give it a boost. Running on an Arduino nano.

Not fully assembled yet as I'm waiting on a battery pack...

Pip Boy 3000. Has a raspberry pi with a 4 inch tft and an arduino micro acting as a usb keyboard for the buttons and dial. Still sourcing graphics for the gui but the proof of concept works! I have radio, maps and a "working" Geiger counter

And last up a bunch of Meds, because stay indoors and stay safe folks :)

I’m brand new to the RPF. I don’t have any props, and I’m no good at creating.

I am a huge fan of Star Wars, or anything classic. I would like to start my RP collection with some pieces designed after the mandalorian tv series.

Hello all!
I'm very new to making, I've never built a replica prop of anything (I have done a fair amount of woodworking) I'm planning to start with a star lord blaster, though I'm open to suggestions for a better thing, I don't really know what I'm doing so help would be appreciated.

-Peter
